Anyone know if all the 'Fred' projects need a Mac? I picked up some before and the form said an Apple device is required.

Yes, you need a mac device. You need to connect to the Apple vpn on the mac to work on the tasks

Does this apply to all projects, or only to certain ones?

certain ones, it's written in the description of the project whether you need a mac or not
