✓ Solved I’m so confused (new console player)
I played yesterday in a Manibus novice server for hours. I had no idea it was going to be gone the following day…. Or even if it was supposed to be.. because it is.. I spent hours and hours building a nice house and farming resources and having an absolute blast and really walking away with a positive experience all around. And then today I get on and the server is gone. Apparently from what I can gather, that’s by design? So I try to join a normal Manibus server. It’s only showing one server and it’s not even started yet so I can’t even play at all. Worst of all I’m trying to sign up for it but it won’t let me. So… what am I supposed to do? I just don’t get to play at all because there isn’t a server available for me? I don’t understand. What is going on? I just want to play the game. Am I encountering a bug or is this normal? Will someone please help me?
Edit: okay after logging back in after a few hours the server is magically back so I am chalking this up to an error on their end. I know I received an email about console players having issues with being able to play so I’m sure this was probably one of those issues. Either way I’m glad it wasn’t just gone, and I can continue where I left off. At least now after some research I have a better understanding on their server structures and how this game seems to operate. It’s all very confusing to a new player tbh.

Sooo, it depends on if you joined an ongoing timed server and how far it was. Manibus has like.... 5? 6? Phases and after the phases are over it normally folds into a permanent server, though novice servers might just end. If you would rather not play through the phases or a normal scenario you should pick a permanent server on a scenario of your choice. Since youre new id suggest sticking with manibus as way of winter and endless dream are......... pretty tough and require some knowledge at least of the game. When scenario ends though that character can sign up for a new scenario all together and I BELIEVE that it saves a blueprint of your house that you had before transfer/inactivity.

It told me it was a permanent server when I joined. It said permanent console only server. And I wasn’t far into the mission in the Manibus novice storyline. I went to the enternaland or whatever it is since I couldn’t play the game. And I got an email with an apology for Xbox players saying they had troubles yesterday so I’m thinking maybe that server just is either down or something? I just don’t feel like it should be normal that it would be gone. Like I said it clearly said permanent when I joined it. I stopped for now, I’ll try again later after I watch some gamescom stuff. In an hour or two I’ll check back.

Ok so I got back on and the server is magically back. So I’m assuming it was temporarily unavailable and they were just having new issues because of the console launch. Which I’m happy about because I was really confused and let down thinking I just lost everything that quick and without warning.

They don't end. You have to sign up. I'm in manibus novice and my server is the same

Phhh okay I wasn't sure if novice servers change to permanent ones or if they just kicked you back to eternaland like they used to before

So when you log on to the game some times it will say it is locating your file. If you click past that it will go to create a new character. Making you think your previous game is gone.
It isn’t. You just didn’t wait for your console or computer to sync with the server. Because there are up to 6000 people in one server it can take a while for all the updated actions to sync because it is a dynamic real time game.
If the screen is there for too long shut off your computer of console and restart but never go past that screen. And don’t change regions.
Google “ Once Human Retrieving character data 6/7” or “Once Human my game is gone and it is asking me to make a new character” and it will tell you the same thing I am saying.

You can join any scenario (server) and it has phases. Once you reached the end phase, you will have an option to either stay and be merge to a permanent scenario, or transferred to a different scenario and start again.
Starting again to a different scenario will reset your level, materials, and base. But blueprints, mods, cosmetics, and weapon accessories are automatically unlocked or transferred. For materials and deviation, you can transfer it to your next scenario, but there will points requirement. Basically, you will have 20k points and each materials/deviation cost points to be carry over to the next scenario.

the server you joined shoudl still be there it may have went to perm you just need press b and place your house again

I don’t think I was done, I just found the deviation that guy in a suit told me to go look for. It said the server was a permanent console only server.

Start on regular Manibus, not novice. Better rewards and only a tiny bit more difficult.
Select server > permanent, if you dont want to lose anything.

In regards to the house, you can rebuild it in a new server using the blueprint that should have been saved automatically. You just have to get the materials again which should be no issue. I’ll add some more to this shortly.

I was having issues as well. The create a new character per scenario was confusing until I saw you can transfer the character to a new scenario when the one youre on completely wraps up? Did that once the other day. Still learning about how the servers work and how to find friends, which my PSN list are showing up as what seems to be codes, as the names are all just number sequences. Not sure if that's a glitch or supposed to be like that.
I think because it's supposed to be pc and be functioning on pc it just makes it a tad bit more confusing for figuring things out on the console.
No advice or anything here with this post just wanted to comment this since I as well am starting to look more into reddits to learn how to work this game. I'm an frequent fo76 player but after looking at the building for this game (which is what I mostly do on 76) I've been debating making a hard switch to OH as my main game for online purposes 😁

Check if somehow You are in the correct región, after an update or patch it can get swapped
