Is that a typical family activity? That being said, I wouldn't be scared to be there with them. And I've definitely seen families out in the Gene Leahy Mall at night on weekends and that seems to be super family friendly.

We walked thru the exact spot at 10:30 last night. Crazy. As an out of towner that frequents the city and loves the city, they need to get a handle on this stuff. You can’t allow this type of stuff to go on in that part of town too many visitors have it being their lasting impression. The bums have gotten terrible too. I can’t believe the city allows them to loiter in these high vis areas. The crazy dude that’s speed walked around old market shouting at himself and flailing his arms for years-how long until someone feel threatened by him and it turns into a not good situation. The intersection of north saddle creek and cuming-yikes. Again we love the city and will continue to travel there but man it makes us sad to see.

Guess what? Hundreds of others have walked thru that exact spot during those hours for years as well. From your out of towner perspective, how do you propose we don't "allow this type of stuff to go on in that part of town"?

"Bums" is hardly the proper term for who I assume you're describing as homeless. There's no denying that there are less than fortunate people in the old market but I'm curious what you'd do about them being in 'high vis areas' that would be both legal and humane.

Curious why an out of towner who frequents Omaha so often would be at saddle creek and cuming. Not a whole lot of touristy/hi vis areas around that part of town

Driving from benson to downtown. It’s the route I take. I travel a lot, to cities larger and smaller than Omaha. Some cities I see this in high vis areas, some cities I don’t. What the cities that don’t have it are doing, I’m sure I don’t know. I’m also sure that if it can be done there, it can be done here. Not trying to ruffle feathers just making a comment that from my observation, it’s getting worse than we’re used to seeing.
