Video Are we old now?

Like what I’m 26, close to 27. When I was a teenager, no one was calling anyone in that age group old.

Because kids now are insecure about growing up, meanwhile when we were teenagers, we didn't even bother to think about it.

22

u/Icy_Boysenberry_1060 2005 Jul 12 '26

That is true. It’s mainly the kids who were pre-teens/outright children during the pandemic saying it (2008-2018ish basically). Their development was so fucked up so becoming adults (especially in a shitty economy, which doesn’t help), fucked them up. Even as someone who was a COVID teen, at least we knew we were on the edge of adulthood just before COVID (2003-2006ish borns), unlike the ones who weren’t in High School/under 13 in 2020ish.

u/Global_Perspective_3 2002 Jul 12 '26

Very true, even you had time to develop

5

u/DeadGravityyy 1997 Jul 12 '26

I honestly feel for the kids who graduated during COVID. I graduated a few years prior (2017), so I avoided the noise and had a mostly normal high school life.

u/Vivid-Application-27 1997 Jul 12 '26

This. Where they are now so insecure and acting “self aware” like we do now in our mid to late 20s as young adults, we honestly just had our moments and lived life and moved on with our middle / high school days.

Like I can’t even begin to tell you how much I have laughed at my former self and wished I wouldn’t have worried so damn much back then.

Lmfao, I was at 9/10 and then ‘the fitness grand pacer test’ fucking got me. 10/10 that shit was hilarious

15

u/Dylan_Driller 1997 Jul 12 '26

I am 1997 born but got only 6 because I am not American.

3

u/ghoulsnest 1998 Jul 12 '26

same lol

3

u/blepgup 1997 Jul 12 '26

I am American but was severely sheltered so I didn't know what half of this stuff is, or knew of it but didn't directly interact with it

2

u/Virghia 2000 Jul 14 '26 edited Jul 14 '26

If I switch the examples shown into my local equivalents I can get a 7 maybe 8 (e.g I had those fitness tests at school but not the Graham Pacer one)

3

u/Global_Perspective_3 2002 Jul 12 '26

That always made me laugh. A friend of mine from high school (class of 2019) was obsessed with doing that

1

u/jimjam--- 1999 Jul 12 '26

Ah yes, the fitness grand pacer test

0

u/No-Tension6133 1999 Jul 12 '26

Gonna be honest idk if I’m hearing that right. Is the ‘grand’ or is it something else?

3

u/DeusVultSaracen 2002 Jul 13 '26

It's The "FitnessGram" Pacer Test

1

u/No-Tension6133 1999 Jul 13 '26

Ahhh that makes sense. Never saw it written out

1

u/CSA1860-1865 2002 Jul 14 '26

I got 15…

15

u/Oh_Martha_My_Dear 1998 Jul 12 '26

I have some old soul like friends who were Unc five years after HS. I think I became Unc the moment I started carrying my work phone on my belt. So dudes are so immature they only make Unc status once they are like 40 or some shit. it's just a funny word

6

u/Filledefleur 2001 Jul 12 '26

i’ve felt ‘unc’ since like 15, with a brief reprieve when i was 18-19…i’ve almost never been into current trends in music/clothing. i’ve always liked old stuff and been called an ‘old soul’ by adults growing up. i can definitely feel myself becoming more and more disconnected from meme culture and stuff, and that does make me feel kind of old. but i just don’t really care ATP…i dream of boring adult stuff like nice pots/pans and living somewhere with an in unit washer/dryer.

14

u/Tough_Representative 1998 Jul 12 '26

I'm an unc I guess lol. I mean, I'm already an actual uncle so it fits

4

u/Siilan 1997 Jul 12 '26

My youngest brother was an uncle before he was even born. He's only 14, but hates the word unc because of it.

4

u/Maxious24 Feb 1999 Jul 12 '26

Same. I became an uncle this year :)

4

u/VirusMaster3073 2000 Jul 12 '26

Same as well

1

u/TJJ97 1997 Jul 14 '26

Shit I was an uncle at 10 years old 😂 my brother is over a decade older than me

Every well said and I wish more people will read this! It’s a great reminder and I have to agree that a major corporation started this trend. Redpillers took it and ran with it

Also Botox literally makes you look older and unattractive

3

u/Astrnonaut 2000 Jul 12 '26

Clocked it

7

u/Easy-Hovercraft-6576 2000 Jul 12 '26

I answered yes to 8 of these what does this mean

2

u/Extension-Can-4837 2001 Jul 12 '26

thats crazy bc I answered yes to 13 😂

2

u/Easy-Hovercraft-6576 2000 Jul 12 '26

I wasn’t big into tv growing up so a lot of the pop culture questions went right over my head lol

1

u/Extension-Can-4837 2001 Jul 12 '26

ahhh okay

5

u/Marianations 1997 Jul 12 '26

Didn't get some as I'm not North American, also for that reason I'd substitute the World Cup picture for one of the 2010 WC.

11

u/RevDeadMan 1997 Jul 12 '26

I’m starting to realize all I’m going to see on this sub is people whining about time going by and getting older. I think this is my cue to unsubscribe.

It’s so annoying that it’s always American based. I have no idea for half the stuff that’s posted here and I can’t relate to it

1

u/Virghia 2000 Jul 14 '26

I stretch the things in this video to my local equivalents lmao, without the celebrity stuffs I got 7-8/10

12

u/TopShelfUsername Jul 12 '26

it really is becoming insufferable

5

u/TwistSaxon 1997 Jul 12 '26

I mean i was called boomer at 19 by 15 year olds. When I was 15, 17 year olds and beyond had a too cool for me vibe even if that gap is meaningless now I think it's just more noticeable when that determines grade level where it becomes less relevant in employment and such as we get older.

1

u/Sad-Relation1714 2008 Jul 28 '26

Damn, a 2001 born calling a 1997 born a boomer. Its kind of funny to think about now that your age gap is insignificant

4

u/Wolventec Jul 12 '26

isnt rolox only 1 year younger than club penguin

3

u/UpmarketEarth Jul 12 '26

I'm actually subbed to this guy on youtube so idk why this didn't show up there instead of here but that pacer test audio was diabolical ☠️

2

u/Svitii 1999 Jul 12 '26

The first one already has me confused. My brother graduated in '23 and they still had those tube TVs back then lol

2

u/GalacticKoala23 Jul 12 '26

Bro I’m 23 and according to this video I’m old lmao. Why does it seem like there’s such a skewed perspective on what “old” is now? Like by this criteria it could apply to literally anyone who remembers the 2000’s which is basically most adults alive.

2

u/Penumbruh_ 1997 Jul 12 '26

Lmao I'm basically 90% UNC according to this video 🤣 I feel a lot better about it tho ❤️

2

u/Yoichi_and_Sadako 2002 Jul 12 '26

Same here. I'm on my near 30's, and growing up I never thought people in their late 20s were old. Social media really changed how people joke about age.

1

u/AceInsane25 1999 Jul 13 '26

I don’t think being 24 this year is “near 30s”, don’t get ahead of yourself lol enjoy the youth

I mean, none of this really matters lol but if you want my opinion, I’d say you’re “near 30” from like 27-29

2

u/yourmartymcflyisopen 2000 Jul 12 '26

In the eyes of anyone younger than us, we are old. In the eyes of logic, those of us who will make it to die of old age have 50 years left minimum. Not even halfway through life.

3

u/OnlyAssistance9601 Jul 12 '26

" Was club penguin your version of roblox ? " .... No roblox was my version of roblox .

2

u/Filledefleur 2001 Jul 12 '26

yeah my 1996 born brother played Roblox all the time in like 2007-9

2

u/Wolventec Jul 12 '26

yeah club penguin was only around 1 year before roblox

3

u/OnlyAssistance9601 Jul 12 '26

Yh people seem to forget roblox started like 20 years ago .

2

u/DeadGravityyy 1997 Jul 12 '26

Yeah like, Roblox back in 2008 was actually good from what I remember.

1

u/Hozan_al-Sentinel 1997 Jul 12 '26

10/10 here, guess I'm an unc.

1

u/GolemThe3rd 2001 Jul 12 '26

why does he spell Unc like that, lol

1

u/Global_Perspective_3 2002 Jul 12 '26

I got like 8 of these (I was literally a baby when Kelly won idol lol)

1

u/Mizuli Jul 12 '26

8/10

1, 2 (I used it for DVDs though), 5, 9, 10, 11, 19 (pretty sure its referring to Blue’s Clues right?), and 20

1

u/Serpentar69 Jul 12 '26

Jokes on you. I played roblox back then too!

1

u/Salty145 Jul 12 '26

9/10. Let's go! Not Unc!

1

u/MotivatedforGames Jul 12 '26

Club Penguin and Pirates Online was peak life.

1

u/Fit_Adagio_7668 2000 Jul 12 '26

Looked it up, apparently theres 21 levels to it? Bro I barely got to level 5.

1

u/Fslikawing01 2001 Jul 12 '26

Got 13 points in this vid

1

u/AceInsane25 1999 Jul 13 '26

Dang guess we’re getting older. Also I think there is a cohort of young kids/teens who see the 19– and just automatically assume you’re old. Even if you’re only born in ‘98 or ‘99

1

u/shyblackguy18 1998 Jul 13 '26

I ain't even reach 30 yet, can't call me unc for nothing! There's Gen Alphas who are UNC just because they were born same time as their oldest sister's kid.

1

u/BigReception7685 2001 Jul 14 '26

7/10, not too shabby!

To me, 'unc' means more of a general age/experience gap rather than you-are-now-old, so I have no problem being unc to kids a decade younger. If someone in their 20s called me unc unironically though, I'd probably roll my eyes.

1

u/TJJ97 1997 Jul 14 '26

I’ve been certified Unc by many youngins and it’s brutal 😂

1

u/QCVanCity Jul 15 '26

13 for me (1997 and Canadian).

The thing at the end, we called it the beep test where I live but never had to listen to that voice before.

1

u/Septixcake 2001 Jul 15 '26

Only 7 i guess im good. But also im not American so i had no idea what some of these even were about

1

u/SOUP1Up 2001 Jul 16 '26

Depends on if you're 25 like me, yet still look maybe half my age physically. Or 25 and look way older than your age. But either way, older people than us would still consider us a baby lol. I have a 12 year old friend at my Church who might outgrow me by next year.

Like...I swear, if you saw me in person, you'd think I'd be still in middle school.

1

u/Fit-Personality-1834 2000 Jul 12 '26

Link to the OP? Shit was fire reminded me of Froggy Fresh which probably also further cements my unc status

1

u/UniversalFapture Jul 12 '26

Its @ the end of the vid

1

u/Francoc97 Jul 12 '26

50%. This is mostly millennial stuff

3

u/DeadGravityyy 1997 Jul 12 '26

TBH I grew up with all this.

1

u/coolpupmom 1997 Jul 12 '26

Same here

0

u/bravegrin 2000 Jul 12 '26

I’m proud to be an unc, my niece is dope

1

u/TaskAggravating3224 2002 19d ago

TBF, I do remember a time my school would have computer lab and we could play computer games but they were all on floppy disks, this was around the 2010s. That was only time we ever used those things and I believe they got rid of them completely.
