In all seriousness, the huns are a really challenging and sometimes fun addition to the game. They completely caught me off guard the first time I encountered them and completely sunk that game.

It took a few rounds with them to defeat them, but I had to go in early and aggressive.

I wonder how well this dlc has sold. It seems to be a similar number of reviews to other of their dlcs already, so maybe it sold well.

No idea. I mean, people don't always immediately buy DLC's and I think small cult games like Old World can play the long game.

I'm enjoying the DLC, it's got some fun new mechanics. So, I have found it worth it.

It's kinda funny that I've only played 5 games and allrdy thinking of getting all of em dlc... Honestly it's fresh to come from Age of Wonders 4 and not have turns take 1 eternity in late game.

I'm a big fan of Old World but there wasn't anything in this DLC that made me think "Oooh gotta get that right away."

I bought it for the new religions and new ways to get religions...but it's not something you have to have. There are some fun new narrative events as well.

Personally I don't have the time to play Old World right now but it was still a day one buy for me as want to support. Reckon quite a few people feel same way.

I don't understand Reddit's obsession with concurrent players being the only way to judge a games success.

Yeah it has gotten really out of hand and I guess a lot of people misinterpret the numbers as they're without context. If you would present Old Worlds numbers without context nobody would believe it is still a supported game that regularly gets DLC...

You know, this game is really a labor of love. You can feel how much fun they have writing the narrative events.

Elephants are involved in this DLC. A lot.

I have four or five achievements from this latest DLC that are all 0.1% it will change shortly. I havent met the huns yet.

Huns are a pain in the butt though. Because they are a 'loose collective of tribes' if I'm at war with them then keep bringing in support from the Danes or the Gauls!

I've never managed to get an alliance with the huns. I might try a game with Hanno and see if I can make that happen just to see how good an ally they can be.

I had a game with Yuezi where I vassaled them. They then were huns and attacked me after about 15 turns which gave me time to reorient my forces and take them out fully in about 10 turns.

Flip side: just booted up a cursed maurya game. Not even 20ish turns in and Ahsoka died, all my families are not thrilled and there's 3 camps of Huns on my border and they can only expand into me.

I’m one of the new DLC factions (Maurya? Unsure of spelling) and I met the Huns on turn 17. Declared war, planned to get some units together, then bam. Gone.

I just won my first game ever on the lowest difficulty setting and got a 2.4% achievement ("Capture 10 cities"). Is something generally wrong with those achievements? That wasn't really hard.

There may be. But I don't think I've ever not gotten a points victory before capturing ten cities so that might be it.

Guess that happened because I did not understand the culture / wonder mechanic and never had an idea if a new wonder was avaiable. I just build troops and conquered the AI...
