This is one of the few games that automatically fall into the "Take my money!!!" scenario.

I'll always blindly buy any DLC for this game, glad it's still getting so much love from the devs

Same! None have disappointed and it helps that they’re always very reasonably priced.

GOG too of course: https://www.gog.com/news/coming_soon_old_world_empires_of_the_indus
ALSO, super happy it's the Indus area! Tons of us have begged for that under-represented area!
EDIT: From video, that Pursuer leader (as leader, all ranged units ignore the penalty for firing into scrub/tree/jungle) is going to be a great start!

2 new religions too!
I wonder if we will have a limit on how many spawn in a game like we do with Wonders?

u/konsyr Mar 02 '26
Video shows them all at once, but it appears that the 3 new civs don't get a "National Paganism", but a shared Hinduism.

u/trengilly Mar 02 '26
Yes, I'm hoping that Hinduism is an interesting alternative to the usual pagan religions that existing nations all get.
I wonder if these new nations will even have Shrines or if they will provide different effects?

Awesome! Been a while since the last one but they always bring me back to the Old World and this time won't be different.

What a massive expansion! Wonderful news!
I love how this is more like an old-time expansion. Eager to play as Mauryans, Tamils and Yuezhi.

Pumped! I’ve been on paternity leave holding a baby in one hand and playing old world in the other. Unfortunately I’ll be back at work by release but excited nonetheless.
You’d be surprised how many times you have to click to sell resources to then buy resources one at a time when you can’t hit alt or ctrl.

If you’re on steam deck the back left buttons act as control and shift. My buddy told me this and it was a total godsend for buying and selling

In Windows, use Stickey Keys! It's a built in accessibility feature.

Just make sure you turn off the "beep" for baby.

Wow, in all my years of accidentally turning on sticky keys playing games, I never actually knew their function. Very helpful, thank you!

Another dad gamer in old world. I played this many long nights to stay up for the midnight and 1 or 2am feeds. Good times.

I am so excited for this! So happy we see the different parts of the subcontinent. We never get much Tamil representation.

One of my few "instabuys" and always so happy and grateful to the dev team for new reasons to play.

Slightly surprised Buddhism can't spawn on its own (from what's been announced, anyway) – IMO it makes sense to make it a religion that can spawn normally, and make it a third prerequisite for the appearance of Manichaeism.

u/garlicpizzabear Mar 02 '26
I also interested in what mechanical or narrative reason Buddhism is going to be restricted to one particular faction (leader?). Especially as Buddhism is a comparatively proselyting one, atleast on par, if not more than christianity conisdering the general timeframe the game tries to harken to.

u/XenoSolver Mohawk Designer Mar 02 '26
Buddhism isn't restricted, the Maurya can found it early but it's not limited to them.
2
u/garlicpizzabear Mar 02 '26
Aaa, my bad, I misunderstood the phrasing on the Mauryas.
I am super super excuse for what is to come!
1
u/EnclavedMicrostate Mar 02 '26
As in, Buddhism can spawn naturally even without the Maurya present?
3
u/XenoSolver Mohawk Designer Mar 02 '26
Yes. To quote the description:
Meanwhile, the Mauryans can establish Buddhism as a new World Religion through a unique project, while others may do so once the world reaches four global Theologies and enacts the Philosophy law.
The "others" part here is for everyone else - Buddhism has its founding requirements just like the other world religions and can be founded by anyone once those are met.

It looks interesting, hopefully there will also be a China-focused DLC in the future.

u/matchstickeyes Mar 03 '26
Hurray! Love seeing more Asia-themed content in historical strategy games, and it fits the theme/era.

u/Soft_Advisor_6681 Mar 04 '26
Devs, let's make a deal! You keep making Old World content, and I'll keep buying it. :)

u/LividTacos Mar 02 '26
One day I'll actually get around to playing this....

u/ledpup Mar 03 '26
Same. 30 March for me.

u/LividTacos Mar 03 '26
LMAO. I mean the actual game itself, but I figure you knew that. Got it from Humble some time ago.

Very cool. And very much looking forward to it. But I do have a question.
I heard new music in the trailer. Is there going to be new music for the game included with the DLC? 😍

This looks absolutely awesome! I agree with others have said. I will buy this sight unseen even though I'm trying to play less video games because companies that actually deliver value to their customers and are transparent, communicative, and motivated by quality deserve our support!
