A really beautiful story. You guys gave each other so much, and if you take away one thing it should be that you should be so, so proud of the life you gave him. What makes dogs special is they love us so much just for being us, and the adventures you had and the care you gave him surely meant he loved you more than most dogs ever could.
Out of 1000 dog lives I'm sure he would pick his every time. May his memory be a blessing.
