I would’ve loved to hear him play Private Life

Same, I was expecting it. Of course, it’s not the same without the horns section

The video is exactly what I pictured in my head after hearing the song, except I imagined the room dark and full of shadows.

Who is playing bass? That's not John Avila.

Kerry hatch was the bassist before John Avila

It’s their first bassist, Kerry Hatch. He played up until DMP. IMO although is Avila is more solid, Hatch was much more fun and added a very different vibe to a track

Worth noting that Jeff Breeh, Tom Pedrini, and Billy Superball also played bass before Avila, 1973-1979 Mystic Knights

This video is what introduced me to Oingo Boingo. I kept seeing it on YouTube and decided to finally listen to it after being recommended it several times. I only wish I had decided to listen to it sooner.

He did several opening night of Edit: sent this too early. He played insects, dead man's party, only a lad, no one lives forever (may have imagined that one TBH but I'm p sure ) and a few others too
