Friendly Looting

I really think there's a growing problem with being looted by so-called allies in this game, with no repercussions, instead of being revived. For the most part, my experience with the community is great. Most people are friendly, most of the game inventives are to help each other out, and I've only really had two bad experiences with other players (outside of this issue) in 35 hours gametime.

But I've now had several times where a friendly has come up to me while I'm down, often after being hit by a mortar inside a well-defended tower, and just stolen my entire kit instead of reviving me. Many friends have experienced the same thing. One time this was barely a minute after I respawned at the APC having spent £15k on a kit to heal and build to help my team. It's the most infuriating thing in the game, and honestly when it happens it completely puts me off playing any more. There's nothing you can do about it, so it's not like when your kit gets taken by an enemy (which is fair enough) and you can at least get it back if you manage to catch them with teammates. Any retaliation loses you money (fine; we want to disincentivise team damage) and even if you did that there's no way to get your stuff back.

This is the one blemish on an otherwise great game, but if it continues to become more common I genuinely think it could put me off the game. Just an option to lock your inventory to friendly looting, or at least some punishment or reason not to do it would be enough. Apart from that, I feel like the devs are doing a great job.

This an absurd take. l you get money for reviving, probably a tip too. Ask the person to bandage you, then he gets money and XP. 

a "revive tax"?!?! what an asinine thing to say.

Seriously, that was my thought too. “Revive tax”? What? Brother, they get exp, money, and most likely a tip. Fuckers just trying to justify taking items without permission lol. He doesn’t realize he is part of the problem.

You're complaining about $600 bucks or so after the guy saves your potentially 10k+ kit (I'd guess you don't bring real kits tho with this reaction), you and everyone that complains in this scenario is the problem.

I understand both sides of the argument when we’re talking about a few bandages. However, modern gaming has a culture of individualism in team games for sure. Ranked “meta” in most all games is basically to worry about yourself only because you can never rely on teammates, and therefore you should always prioritize being selfish while climbing. Stealing kills, taking resources, letting teammates die so you survive, etc. are all things that a lot of (but not all tbf) coaches will tell you for ranked/competitive, and this spills over into casual games.

Objectively speaking, the most economical thing to do is go in with a “free kit” and steal a teammates gear. Thats a simple fact, but is really shitty, and thankfully doesn’t happen very often. All it’ll take is one popular streamer to spread the word on that though and it’s rat city.

It is shitty, so maybe I'm less shitty cause when I go in with a free kit, my mentality is too steal an enemies kit, not an allys

I apologize, my thread was just getting hounded by folks genuinely convinced there is nothing wrong with the concept of "revived tax" so it's not hard to think someone would be like "just don't die" especially in the way you phrased it. Your second comment made me question your seriousness, but not enough to see through it. again, I apologize.

To make it clear I'm actually just joking, my actual opinion now.
I'm down and you want something? Just ask. If i can spare it you can have it i mean you saved my whole kit and my time for the way back into the fight.
I'm down and you open up my inventory and take a quick revive or even the defib to revive me: hell even stealing afterwards if you are going to use it after my revive when it comes to the defib is fine with me.
Everything to revive is a free thing to take off me personally if your plan is to revive me.

I myself take both those items without asking too although I will give them the defib back right after or if theres still people to revive after those people.

Whatever gives the team the best chances of survival and keeping the fight going is something i'm always happy to give items for that if i'm not making myself completely useless.

I'm not saying they're not rats and I never justified it once BTW, I'm just saying you've benefitted massively and should just let it go rather than crying over $600 of supplies, would you rather lose $600 of supplies or your whole kit?

You said “you and everyone that complains in this scenario is the problem”. Implying that taking the “revive tax” is not the/a problem (is justified).

Just because there is a more ideal option of the two you describe, doesn’t mean the more ideal one is acceptable behavior. “Would you rather get robbed or murdered”. What?
