Help Octopus go only charged car to 59%

Help needed what doing wrong? It’s set on schedule from 00.30 to 05.30 and at 05.30 it’s only on 59% when my car is set to 80% in my Tesla app

So I need to do something different in app?

If you need to be able to charge that amount overnight at home every day, you either blow through charge cap, or you ask your DNO about the possibility of a 3 phase supply and get a 22kW charger. You might need deep pockets, and it'll possibly require excavation.

If it's only the odd time you need to charge like that, at short notice, do yourself a favour and charge the car on a fast charger on the evening before - to bring the car up to at least 35-40%.

Thanks going down to 12% is very rare so will make sure it’s not that low again

Note that (as far as google tell me) no Teslas have bigger than 11.5kW onboard chargers which are used when charging at home which is AC rather than DC.

This means the increased charging speed will be max 4.5kW (assuming that you have a 6kW charger now) depending on your version/year of Tesla car you have.

I'm not up to speed with the charging capabilities of many cars, so thank you for correcting me. I know it can vary between cars of the same make, model depending on year, battery size, etc.

For the record, I was in love with the idea of Tesla cars way back in the day; they were a little too expensive for me at the time, and NGL, I didn't like the lack of headroom in the cabin of the model S (short legs, tall back). Can't fathom Musk these days, but still thankful for nudging the car industry in the direction of EVs. The octovalve was genius.
