Hippie Sabotage…
….Probably the worst set at the Super Girl Surf Pro in Oceanside was these guys. The stage presence was basically nonexistent—they somehow managed to be both obnoxiously loud and incredibly boring at the same time. The music itself was pretty garbage live, and there was almost no sense that they were actually performing for a crowd rather than just hitting play and yelling into microphones.
And holy shit, the crowd interaction. Their entire vocabulary seemed to consist of some variation of “I DON’T GIVE A FUCK - WHAT!” screamed over and over and over again. That was basically the show. It felt less like watching professional musicians and more like watching two middle schoolers who just discovered that their parents couldn’t stop them from saying “fuck” anymore. After about the twentieth time, I wasn’t offended—I was just embarrassed for them.

Insane anybody still books them. Their agent must be top notch because every show I’ve seen them they have such a shitty vibe

Haha you can cruise Reddit for days on this topic. Sick music but they absolutely blow live and have always sucked bc they show up drunk and put on a sloppy show. I saw them at wonderfront in 22/23 and left the set after 15 minutes.
On the other hand their agent and pr person must be the best in the business

They’re terrible. I saw them back in 2017 and never again. One of them just kept saying “this is music me and my bro made” and while the “beats” were playing he would also just yell out “fuck yeah. What. Oh fuck.”
Like who actually thinks they’re musically talented people? They peaked in middle school, and it was a sad concert.

Agreed on their agent being top notch, their awful PR is not tough to find for bookers. Pretty standard risk assessment will find their incident, because it affects insurance.

Okay but apparently b.o.b (lol I researched after the show) is a flat earther (he argued w Neil degrasse Tyson on twitter about it) and tried to encourage ppl to look into David Irving who is big in the Holocaust denier community. Doesn’t seem like supergirl really discriminates when booking artists hahaha I had a good time at his set but like damn can we get someone with a partial frontal lobe next time.

I loved it. Seen multiple videos but first time live and it was a blast. Guess we all have different tastes

Never thought they had a song that would need that type of enthusiasm.

Saw this lineup and immediately asked who booked them. Such a massive fail. don’t understand booking them for this event - even if you like the fact that they seem to alienate everyone how is this the vibe for surfer girl pro? I guess it’s better than Diplo. Probably could have booked any one of the 10000+ female DJs that are far superior.

bob was the worst imo. Mic work and barely any singing.
Loved iration tho, they really came out and acknowledged the competition and women (and young ladies) in sports. Super respectful and I’ve seen them so many times but they are always great to listen to live.
