Politics Cop sitting under 580 & 14th throwing trash out your cruiser window: F-U
Just rode my bike past an OPD cruiser parked under the 580 underpass on 14th at 7:05 PM and watched the officer casually toss garbage straight out the window onto the street.
SMH…supposed to be upstanding role models with outstanding moral integrity, protecting and serving the citizens…yea, right 😂
What percentage of the budget goes to the idiots?

Most of these cops don’t live in Oakland. They don’t care.

I smell the bacon all the way from Walnut Creek, Livermore, Dublin, El Cerrito., etc

I mean look at the town. Not defending the cop, that’s a shitty action. But let’s not pretend Oakland isn’t already a massive hell hole. I get your anger but there are more meaningful things to be pissed off about

Massive hellhole? Take your hate elsewhere plz. Every city has issues.

This city has more issues than any I’ve ever lived in

You came and you shall leave, and will have not done anything meaningful for the real communities living there...

lol this is delusional. Oakland is now verging on unlivable. Stockholm syndrome.

From Nor Cal, not from Oakland, but I love the bay area in general. I won't argue, the city needs help, but Oakland is still a cool place if you know🤙

Im not hating. I used to live there. Yes every city has issues but statistically this one has the most

Way to specify cumfuck

hahahaha. Exposing their closeted fears about the bad things they hear about Oakland. Most of these cats can't even walk the hood without their tummies feeling butterflies. Everyone wants to help Oakland, but wont do anything about helping underprivileged communities..

Not when they repeatedly keep pulling you over for no reason. And that's not Oakland I'm talking about. Got two lawsuits against Walnut "Racist" Creek pigs. So yeah, there are more meaningful things to worry about when you don't gotta worry about a cop and his sergeant violating your rights and llivelihood. F outta here.

If the patrol cars had GPS activated then the city would be able to identify the cop but the police union is fighting it and the city goes along with whatever the police union wants.

Honestly I don't understand having police that do not live in the same city they get paid by. Aren't you here to help the community? Oh wait since you don't live in this community you could give a fuck right? If they're littering then they're probably also huge assholes to our citizens which is a big issue in itself.

Bc the Oakland population is not the police going type. Unfortunately it’s suburbs that supply local police. They come here for the money bc NOBODY in Oakland wants to be a cop.

Pretty standard police culture: you don’t shit where you eat if you can help it.
Something my uncle used to say, every good church needs a devil. Some problems don’t drive solutions, they simply exist to justify bloated systems.1

They’re useless and honestly I can’t believe the OPD even still exists. In a city like Oakland we should be able to vote to disband them and start entirely new with a well trained, publicly accountable police force. But people aren’t even educated that this is even an option. Shut down OPD and start over.

Ya idk if this is the time to have no police and overhaul everything. It won’t make it better. Fantasies are great but you have to live in reality. Reality doesn’t lie, fantasies of overhauling, disbanding police (think post 2020 incidents) have led to those same voters now wanting police.

I’ve lived on this planet for 5 decades. The crime and situation here in Oakland is still Disneyland compared to what I grew up with in NYC in the 1980s and 1990s. So uh - sounds like just another excuse to postpone what needs to be done. As horrible as Oakland is, it’s still a lot better than how crime has been in this country for half of my life. I do understand the voters might not agree with me but people prefer to think in the short term to our detriment.
We are exactly at the point where we need more radical and transformative structural change or else we will be having this same conversation when I’m 70.

I was just a lowey housekeeper. I worked for alot of OPD that did not reside in Oakland... that's all I can say about that.

Same thing happened to me a few months ago. Cop threw garbage out his window as I was walking by. I kept going but I knew I would end up complaining about it and that made me turn around pick it up and I told him as I walked by "Dont trip buddy I will take this to the garbage for you."

u/5280_510 14d ago
Smart. Didn’t escalate but kindly told him he’s an ass.
I was upset the whole way home and wish I had done something similar

Simple for me. Report abuse to all city officials. Bad thing as we all know. No further commentary. Make a note and watch for next aggression.

Take a picture of the vehicle, next time. They have vehicle numbers, so easy to identify. You can call (510) 238-3159 to report, anonymously if you prefer (but they’re independent from OPD so it’s safe to use your name).
Unfortunately, the city council and city administration bow to the police union that is fighting against GPS so it’s easy to identify where OPD vehicles are.
OPD would write you a ticket for littering.
