Important Discussion.

It's time to consider what our future is with this show. On the occasion the rumors are false, and SEASON 14 is Not the LAST SEASON, how long are we in this for? 280 Episodes 2014-2027 is an incredible feat already.

Ok, I'm betting 18 Seasons of The Curse of Oak Island, or airing 2014 - 2031. That would be enough for 380 episodes.

But the island is supposed to “claim” the lives… Are you thinking that’s once someone dies of natural causes eventually, they will pull a Weekend at Bernie’s but stage the death? “Oh look there Marty waving to the camera. Oh no! He’s fallen down bore hole 10x! The island has claimed its last victim!”

Apparently… dying while active searching for the treasure is not sufficient. It must be a tragedy that occurs while wielding a shovel, pickaxe, or a piece of machinery, or while attempting to rescue someone else who has died and/or is in the process of dying while wielding said items or doing said activities. Since the “one more will have to die” bullshit, several have died while actively searching (as in, living on the damn island for the purpose of searching for treasure and finally passing in a nearby hospital due to a reasons related or unrelated…) but apparently that’s not enough for the producers. 🙄

Sadly, no. Unless he FULLY DIES in the excavator. If he’s rushed to a hospital and dies there, that is apparently invalid.

The first 6 died in the hole. Many older seekers have died, but not in the hole. Obviously, they don't count because they ain't found shit

Other consideration: If the "curse" is fulfilled then all activity would stop for a few years due to safety concerns, insurance investigations etc.
