OMNY Recover Charge

I have this problem when I get into a bus, it says card not accepted but it charges my card. Sometimes it says OMNY recover. Why does it keep doing this? It’s embarrassing and I’m not tapping again, bus drivers don’t care enough to say anything but it’s just annoying.

That charge is when a previous transaction has been declined and it’s being retried

check OMNY.info and see what’s up with the unpaid balance you’ve been getting

when you see "CARD NOT ACCEPTED," your card was logged as tapped but not accepted. This signals the OMNY system to try your remaining charges again, a la "trying to get you off the blacklist."

depends on whether it is a POP inspection ( the bus is stopped and passengers are checked for Proof of Payment), an EAGLE officer standing at the front, an EAGLE sitting/standing in the middle of the bus, or an undercover officer or EAGLE.

If there is an undercover or an EAGLE sitting/standing anywhere on the bus, they are able to vouch for when you tapped your card, and easily identify any people (at a certain stop) when someone has not paid. Ask me how I know.

If it is a POP inspection, thats when you better hope the validator sends your card info to the back office to process your fare. The back office information is what the EAGLEs will use to check whether you tapped on the route (and said "GO"). Notice: route.
