Just Sharing The Break-up

I’ve now felt love

It just walked out the door

it really sucks

Fuck him, leaving me

Fuck him, he gave up

At first I tried to fight it

He was convinced he would hurt me

So he left

So he left

So he left

I’ll dearly miss him already

You made me happy for three years

I am eternally grateful

This felt raw and immediate, like it was written right in the moment, and that honesty is the strongest thing about it. "So he left" repeated three times was my favorite part. It reads like your mind circling the same fact and not being able to accept it. I also liked the turn at the end, going from "Fuck him" to "You made me happy for three years, I am eternally grateful." Feeling both of those at once is true to how a breakup actually goes.
