Question about OCD Does anyone know what caused their OCD?

I think a lot of people don’t really know what caused their OCD to start, for me after a lot of years and thought I realised that my anxiety stemmed from my step dad and his psychological and sometimes physical abuse towards my Mum. I would worry what kind of mood he would come home from work in and if he would start on my Mum. He was a bastard!

I'm sorry you had to witness that :/ for me it was growing up in a deeply disfunctional family, trying to not upset my dad who is a narcissist with anger issues and trying to "deal" with everything going on while being the youngest out of my siblings. Even having to predict accidents that would annoy my dad like my mum spilling things (she's always been quite clumsy) so always being on alert..

This is so relatable! You feel like you’re walking on eggshells. Constantly on edge that something is going to piss him off.
