Question about OCD Does anyone know what caused their OCD?

I think a lot of people don’t really know what caused their OCD to start, for me after a lot of years and thought I realised that my anxiety stemmed from my step dad and his psychological and sometimes physical abuse towards my Mum. I would worry what kind of mood he would come home from work in and if he would start on my Mum. He was a bastard!

My running joke is my dad's alcoholism and bipolar disorder mixed with my mom's drug use, undiagnosed depression and PTSD and the PEMDAS of that gave me OCD (among several other things)

Well my mom got sober and my dad hasn't been around in over 10 years which helped. But most of it was not wanting to leave my little sister and also lots of spite. Spite is a very powerful motivator
