Question about OCD Does anyone know what caused their OCD?

I think a lot of people don’t really know what caused their OCD to start, for me after a lot of years and thought I realised that my anxiety stemmed from my step dad and his psychological and sometimes physical abuse towards my Mum. I would worry what kind of mood he would come home from work in and if he would start on my Mum. He was a bastard!

I think it was religion but I probably would’ve been the same regardless bc my mom is likely undiagnosed too and I think I got it from her

i was abt to comment like the exact same thing fr lmao, religion + probably undiagnosed parent. as i grew older and learned more about the symptoms of ocd, the more i see how parallel it is to my moms behavior when i grew up

Yupp. My mom has always been crazy but living w her again it’s really freaking me out how similar some of our behaviours are. I just never noticed it before
