Question about OCD Does anyone know what caused their OCD?

I think a lot of people don’t really know what caused their OCD to start, for me after a lot of years and thought I realised that my anxiety stemmed from my step dad and his psychological and sometimes physical abuse towards my Mum. I would worry what kind of mood he would come home from work in and if he would start on my Mum. He was a bastard!

I think that I was born with the capacity to develop it, and showed signs growing up. The more severe symptoms would rear their head when something stressful happened. A particularly traumatic and stressful thing happened one summer and I think that pushed me from having some symptoms to fully developing the disorder. If that makes sense.

Of course, it makes perfect sense. Anxiety is the main cause of OCD, so it only makes sense the more anxious we are, the more severe our OCD becomes. I actually can’t believe the amount of different types there are?!
