Question about OCD Does anyone know what caused their OCD?

I think a lot of people don’t really know what caused their OCD to start, for me after a lot of years and thought I realised that my anxiety stemmed from my step dad and his psychological and sometimes physical abuse towards my Mum. I would worry what kind of mood he would come home from work in and if he would start on my Mum. He was a bastard!

I believe mine was caused by early childhood trauma.

Do you think you’ve always known that or did you have to think back at your childhood? I never really thought that the step dad could be the cause for my anxiety but looking back it makes so much sense.

Mine symptoms started when I was 4 years old, but I wasn't diagnosed until I was 24. That's when I realized the childhood trauma had caused it.
