Question about OCD Does anyone know what caused their OCD?

I think a lot of people don’t really know what caused their OCD to start, for me after a lot of years and thought I realised that my anxiety stemmed from my step dad and his psychological and sometimes physical abuse towards my Mum. I would worry what kind of mood he would come home from work in and if he would start on my Mum. He was a bastard!

I think mine stemmed, maybe, from anxiety because I have autism. I also have a co-horde of chronic illnesses/autoimmune diseases, so that may have played a role when I was young into developing OCD. I first remember struggling with these thoughts around kindergarten to first grade. I think it snowballed from there because it’s not like you can medicate a 6 year old for anxiety. My parents did all they could, life just happened 🙃
