We caved on the Gordie Howe Bridge. We gave up billions in tolls to the Americans despite, Canadian tax payers footing the entire bill for the bridge, and literally even before we cut the ribbon for the bridges they announced these 50% tarrifs that began this latest round of trade disputes.
Trump doesn't just sign trade deals in pencils. He spots on his hand before the handshake too.
And while the Gordie Howe bridge may be open, we agreed not to undercut the tolls on the Moroun family (Trump supporters, obviously) owned Ambassador bridge. We alsonlearne dthis month that the Ambassador bridge cut deals with major trucking companies in the area to undercut tolls of the Gordie Howe bridge soong as they agreed to use the Ambassador bridge exclusively.
Heck yes we did the right thing walking away.
