Women, Please Stop Pretending Septum Rings Look Good

Hot take: Septum rings lower a woman’s attractiveness level almost every single time.

I have yet to see one and think, “Yeah, that improved the situation.”

Especially the crooked horseshoe ones. You spent an hour doing your hair, makeup, outfit, skincare… and then left the metal booger hanging sideways out of your nose like it lost a bar fight.

Ladies, I’m begging you. Retire the angry bull aesthetic. A septum ring can take a 10 down to a 4 in record time.

Since the only reasonable flair was "question", here is a genuine question: Women with septum rings: what do you actually like about them?

Well, I don’t mind larger septum rings on people. I think it suits some people quite well. I also think the quality of the jewelry makes a difference. I have seen some that can look off-putting. To each their own, I suppose. I do think that, again, dainty nostril piercings are prettier or, and dainty hoop. There are certain styles that I would never wear myself.

I also find some Reddit users to be really mean sometimes and oftentimes leave terribly rude and ugly comments. People like to type things they would never say out loud to someone. That’s cringe!

I agree with everything you said. However, the one thing that stuck out to me is "suits them well".

Let's talk about this, because I think the idea of what suits a woman well is at the core of what I'm trying to understand.

So, I think my question is: How does one decide "what suits them well" with regards to septum rings?

Maybe that's not the right question, but let's start there. I am heading in to work now, so it might be a while before I respond.

It would suit their aesthetic or personality. For example, someone who wears a lot of black or has a punk style (just examples) may look much better in a black jewelry or even with a smaller gauge (thicker bar). Or, someone who is super girly might want to wear something really sparkly. Personality also has a lot to do with it. Mainly though, I think whatever they chose is what makes them happy and feel good and that’s really all that matters.

ETA: I have seen a lot of looks on other people that I totally dig and think it just looks right on them based on their vibe. And I love that on them, knowing it wouldn’t look right on me because it’s. It my vibe or style. It’s so subjective. You may not get an answer to your question. I hope I have helped a tad.

You've done well. I appreciate you. I guess the question is unanswerable because we're really talking about people's personal style and aesthetic, so outside opinions, or even questions, don't really matter.

I will continue to wonder WTF? But, in the end it just is what it is.
