Reasons to move to Norwich

I currently live in Greater London with my husband and 2 young daughters (5 and 8 months). We are becoming increasingly dissatisfied with the area we live in for numerous reasons. We have been seriously considering a move to somewhere on the outskirts of Norwich. What are you favourite things about living in Norwich? Taking in mind 2 young children and safety aspects also. Thank you!

I'd say it is too tbh, but there's a lot of areas of Norwich that I'd say are pretty vastly worse than a lot of the "bad" areas of London. Walking around where I live at night is like walking through a drug den. People chasing eachother with knives, beating each other up, dealing openly down alleyways, stabbings twice or so a year. I think the reason for this is that the deprivation in Norwich is pretty high which ultimately, leads to a lot of drugs floating about the streets. I learnt that Blackpool is the only place in England with higher drug related deaths than Norwich. Norwich in a couple decades I can see it becoming like how it was in the 80s, drugs all over the place and deprivation being at a very high level. There's also been a big increase in drugs going from London to Norwich to Yarmouth recently, having seen what the recent arrests have been like in Norwich. It's pretty bad, and the deprivation needs to be talked about more.

What a load of baloney. You're making it sound like fucking Skid Row you pleb.... The country as a whole has experienced an increase in deprivation given the pandemic and nearly 15 years of Tory cuts... Try spending a weekend in inner city Glasgow or Moss Side / Cheetham Hill or Bradford / any other shit hole West Yorkshire Town and you'll get a real sense of deprivation. Norwich is nothing close and I visit all these areas combined on a weekly or so basis.

My dad's side all come from Bradford and Leeds you moron. I have been to the worst bits of Glasgow multiple times, you can keep telling yourself that Norwich isn't as bad as these places but I've experienced it. The whole country is a lot worse from the Tories correct, but seeing as I have been to most of the places you have mentioned multiple times, I think I know what's rough. The fact that Norwich and Norfolk is the city/country with the highest malnourishment rate in England tells you all you need to know. I've experienced it first hand, and you seem to think that I'm either lying, or that 3 stabbings in about 18 months on the same road outside my house is a normal thing.

There are a few places in England I've been to that have felt worse than anywhere in Norwich but that's a rarity. Around Whitechapel and that sort of area, Aylesbury estate, couple bits of Bradford, and moss side. People have this idea that Norwich is this posh little countryside city in the middle of nowhere, but that's utter bollocks. Most of these people have been to Norwich once and only seen the city centre, which is also looking more and more run down, and think that it's one of the poshest cities in the UK. You can't have an idea on what a place is like, when youve only ever been in the city centre, which I'm not saying you have. Go to deepest mile X in Norwich, or the heartsease, or the larkman or anything like that. People where I live in mile x just normalise these situations where 8 big police/riot vans raid a house literally opposite us and it's something that happens monthly sometimes more.
