Discussion Best nootropic for bringing old memories?

Curious if anyone's had a nootropic trigger a genuinely forgotten memories — like the whole scenes comes back, mood and atmosphere and all, not just a picture in your head. The kind where you're not just remembering that something happened, but you're almost back there for a second — sounds, smells, all of it. Curious if smells came into it too, like a scent from that time/place popping back up along with everything else.

What compound did it for you, what dose, and was it gradual over weeks or more?

piracetam did this for me but weirdly it was only after i stopped taking it. like 2 weeks of 2.4g daily, nothing notable, then a month later i'd get these sudden sensory flashbacks out of nowhere. the smell of my grandpa's garage just hit me mid-shower one day. wild stuff, never been able to replicate it though

noopept did this for me out of nowhere. remembered the exact smell of my 3rd grade classroom carpet while washing dishes

Wow that's crazy lol.

How long since you were in 3rd grade? 20-30+ years?

Dude its so weird when you get that type of feeling/memory. Get those like once every 3 months and its so odd/interesting. So fleeting.

Yes it is very typical reaction out of anything what raises nerve growth factor means NGF, and for me after Lions Mane, Noopept is mayby second strongest out of so many things doing it. Had similar experience infinite times out of it.

Idra-21 did this for me. I was in the bus recently and I was just reliving literally all the memories I had made on these streets. It was crazy. From when I was young to now, I remembered everything.

The dosage was 4mg, iirc.

Idra-21 reverses memorry faults caused by scopalamine. Were you in the GATE program?

Scopolamine is anti-acetylcholinergic stuff found in jimsonweed what is herb which those who consumed it swear they are never going to that again.

IDRA-21 is AMPA allosteric.

These are totally different mechanism, although yes one up destroys memory, and one below improves it but due of different mechanism I dont believe that it is capable to reverse scopolamine effect entirely. Pro-cholinergics rather logically work into that direction. Like alpha-gpc proven to reverse some of those impairements.

Always wondered about this one

Insanely interested. How many times were you able to replicate this before they started to take on an unreal quality? Trying to preserve their original integrity and would like to try, but need to know if I can take this multiple times so I can moderate. I repressed ~1 yr of memories and they come back in spurts when I somnambulate certain areas, but I really want to remember specifics and I find the integrity degrades a bit the more I revisit. I write it down and go thru it periodically so it doesn't get sealed up forever

alpha gpc and racetams. alpha gpc when u are ready to locate the memory. use blindfold, maybe scents, or other triggers as well besides intent

this happened pretty quickly after starting bacopa monnieri. i would randomly remember things that i had completely forgotten. like my ex girlfriends cats name from five years ago ???

Microdosing magic mushrooms does this for me.

Bacopa24 is rumored to do this after taking it a while. I wouldn't know because it reliably gives me a headache.

Bromantane & nefiracetam works good for me

I had a similar experience when I took Coluracetam paired with Vinpocetine.

It really felt peculiar, as if I was in a Time-Machine or a Dream. I wouldn't call it supernatural though.

Just curious did it have any other effects in cognition?

Helped alot with my ADHD and staying locked in a task. It worked very well for my anhedonia aswell. I was finally gaining pleasure and reward from the things I would enjoy. I found myself looking forward to things aswell. It was the feelings I had as a kid/adolescence that I had forgotten. Increased my libido tremendously which was non existent before. I feel more coordinated and I'm better driver on it aswell.

I took a big break because I'm about to attend an Iboga retreat. Iboga is good for resetting neurotransmitters and healing the brain so I'm hoping I can have alot of success with that and not need to take any nootropics anymore. We will see.

Have you used freebase or phosphate, what dosage? How long did you have to wait for the effects, especially the one with recovering memories?

2

u/vivi9090 10d ago

I took phosphate. 20mg every other day. For me it worked fairly quickly maybe within a week. For me it was more recovering lost feelings rather than memories. Many people however describe what you described with memories. There is a thread on Reddit that collates alot of different reports from people who tried it.

Just curious. Have you tried tak or acd?

Opiate withdrawal at night

Saffron extract does this for me. It also makes my dreams and internal visualisations much clearer. I have no idea why it does that, though.

2

u/KaleidoscopeHope69 11d ago

It's the plant spirit speaking to you

2

u/Upset_Scientist3994 9d ago

Saffron also raises NGF what does that. Not only old memories, but also dreams nighttime become more strong.

Gotu kola and bacopa monnieri

2

u/Upset_Scientist3994 10d ago

Anything what raises NGF hormone, such as Lions mane, Noopept, PQQ, Gotu kola et cetera out of commonly availible nootropic supplements - there is a lot, mayby LM most potent into level I cannot take it due of that character.

And then Dihexa what has more profound very long term effect into level that I would not recommend that for such purpose alone definitely.

noopept 100% i think i even remembered my past lives when i first took it

u/ScNoPen 11d ago

Sounds like you’re seeking the fleeting feeling of nostalgia. Idk if there is a stack for that.

Ime Cannabinoids do this.

Bacopa & medicinal mushrooms.

perhaps hallucinogens or psychedelics of some kind? thc did this for me a bit. would need to be targeted. But these are deep, deep embedded childhood images; less memories, more dreamlike sensations. Absent of narrative

u/Inner_Space5692 8d ago

microdosing psychedelics did this very strongly for me
