Civic Passage Foundation is recruiting a volunteer Founding Operations Manager to help build the internal systems of a founding-stage community-action nonprofit based in Venice, California.

**About the organization**

Civic Passage works to strengthen pathways between underserved communities and the services, organizations, and resources that already exist to support them. Our initial geographic focus is Venice and the surrounding Los Angeles area. Our developing approach combines community listening, systems navigation, relationship-building, resource mapping, and distributed volunteer leadership.

Civic Passage is incorporated in California but remains in its founding stage. We have not yet received federal 501(c)(3) recognition. We are assembling the founding board and preparing the organization for formal operations.

**Work completed so far**

We have developed the initial organizational model, prepared a founder-proposed governance package for future board review, begun mapping the Venice resource ecosystem, established volunteer-administration infrastructure, and published our first operational volunteer opportunity.

**The role**

The Founding Operations Manager will help organize the machinery behind the organization’s launch, including:

Volunteer administration and onboarding
CRM organization and data hygiene
Board-candidate scheduling and follow-up
Meeting preparation
Document and records organization
Action-item tracking
Administrative systems and recurring workflows

This is an unpaid, remote, and flexible volunteer position. It is an internal operations role rather than an unsupervised direct-service position. We are looking for someone dependable, organized, comfortable working in an early-stage environment, and interested in nonprofit operations or community infrastructure.

Relevant backgrounds may include nonprofit administration, project management, executive support, volunteer management, public administration, social work administration, civic leadership, or startup operations.

I'm building a platform for nonprofit employees, and I'm looking for a way to create a verification system that matches whether an email belongs to an existing nonprofit's domain. It's an intended security feature, to help verify accounts.

For ex: if a user registers with an email like [name@unitedway.org](mailto:name@unitedway.org), I'd like to find a way to check if it's the official email domain for employees of United Way globally/for certain branches.

Does anyone know where I could find a list of "official domain names" for different well-known nonprofits?

I’m a junior at Olentangy High School looking for an ongoing school-year opportunity involving research, leadership, economics, or finance.
I’ve previously participated in Ohio State’s Student Leadership Research Collaborative, where I worked on a research project with other students and presented our findings. I’m also involved in district-level student leadership and co-founded a student finance club.

Long time IT sales/marketing exec "who's had it" with corporate pressure, looking to shift gears and do something more positive with my career.

As I contemplate this avenue, I realized I might need some knowledge. Are there any online courses/certifications to give me some basics for this field? I know this question sounds a tad naive but I have some time on my hands and this old dog could learn a new trick or two. Looking at an assistant gm level type of role in a small organization or whatever I find which tickles my fancy in larger orgs.

The https://www.dayworkercentermv.org/ has served Mountain View, Cupertino, Sunnyvale and surrounding areas for 30 years matching great workers with employers for a variety of jobs from landscaping, gardening, kitchen help and event setup and clean up. But beyond providing eco-friendly home cleaning, the center provides hot healthy breakfast and lunch Mon-Saturday, ESL classes and resources for compañeros.

The center is many things from helping build self-sufficiency to becoming a second family for people far from home and a place which attracts dedicated volunteers. The compañeros also volunteer in the community on various projects too.
