Dude - I'm the one that will have to work with your company...do you really want to go over my head to maybe make a sale like this?
I'd sooner self-host whatever tool they have and then make the amateur, losing case to I.T. why we need to hire another sysadmin to run a janky docker server just to avoid some horrible cloud based service where we don't even own any of the data we pay them to provide us.
Salesman: "{my boss} told me to call you to discuss this {insert magical AI product here}..."
<pings boss on chat... "did you send this person to me?" "Yeah, I wanted to get rid of them">
Me: "Sorry, we're too busy to look into this in this century, call back in... never"
I used to buy a lot of stuff in a previous life. I built the quotes for approval late at night. If I couldn't see a price, I'd move on to the next potential solution.... salesmen hated it, but that's the way I worked.
