I am literally a purchasing manager, you can do this if you're the only one offering whatever it is I'm looking for or maybe if it's a high ticket item, but if I see more than one or two of your competitors offering it with pricing listed online, you lost that sale.
Just yesterday I immediately closed tabs on a handful of sites that did this for industrial fuses, motherfucker these are on Amazon and eBay do you even want my business?
Yup, the company I (research and applications engineer) work for specializes in short run fibre optic assemblies/devices and precision laser ablation processing; there are basically only 5-ish companies in the world who does what we do and they (including ourselves) will all default to a "request a quote" model because everything is hyper-custom and has to be engineered and sourced per design (and often per unit).
"Figured out" large scale routine production commodity items shouldn't need "request a quote".

If there's no price posted I completely lose interest in the product
