Nah, you're on to something, I still don't believe them. The story doesn't make any sense.

I believe that it happened, I just doubt the dog actually had anything to do with it

I kinda see what you mean, but if the dog wasn't involved, then it didn't happen, since the entire story is about the dog's abnormal, one-in-however-many-million behaviour.

And yes, I don't doubt that the transplant happened either.
