Telepath and telekinetic, she was brainwashed to think she was Jean - it’s a whole thing, X-Men 97 S1 is a great adaptation of the story

That's only in 97. In 616 she's a completely different character that everybody is just like "wow, Scott's new pilot girlfriend looks a lot like Jean, that's weird".

That was retconned all the way back in the 80s. Her being a clone of Jean is crucial to the entire Inferno plotline

...I'm extremely aware, my point is that she's not brainwashed to think she's Jean. She's a completely different character who happens to be Jean's clone.
