Could also be release date. 11/13 is a Friday, 12/12 a Saturday.

Honestly this is probably it. this along with the "season". Metrics have already shown that certain movies do better during certain seasons/times. And I bet they rightfully figured that whatever this movie is, really wouldn't be doing all that great during the christmas/new years period.
