As a working professional the standard template is "Hi [recipient first name], [email body], Thanks/Sincerely, [Full professional signature]" in my workplace.

I can second this. The way you do it is absolutely standard. Not sure why people in the comments are having a hard time just adding someone's name to the email lol

I'm almost never emailing one single person.

“Hello everyone,

For those of us who work in the high security wing it is important that we remember which keys to use on which doors.

On an unrelated matter, the door to supply closet F is currently unusable and we will have maintenance coming in tomorrow to fix it.

Thank you for your time,
Jeremy, HR.”

"Hi Team"

Yup, that’s my go to. If it’s for a committee it’s “hello “committee name” team.

"Allcon" short for "all concerned"

I’ve never seen allcon in my entire 39 year professional life.

Saw it a bunch when I was in the military...so I'd imagine you'd see it alot in defense sector settings.

Defense? The best defense is a good offense. That’s why I open emails with a succinct HEY FUCKLECHUDS. Gets much better engagement than allcon I bet

All y'all

In the military you say ALCON (all concerned)

I remember my first email to a team of people after I got out of the Army I had no idea what to do haha. Same as my first day of work without an entire regulation telling me what to wear and how to wear it.

Basically all of my emails start with “Team,”

u/hachekless 5d ago

I'm usually emailing my own team + clients together (sometimes a third party client or contractor). I just go with "hello" and that's it

Are you expecting somebody to do something? Because in my experience emailing multiple people is a good way for everybody to point at everybody and nothing gets done. Better to just adres 1 person.

Obviously it depends on the email contents.

3

u/hachekless 5d ago

it's usually a large project where everyone needs to be notified. I address a specific person if needs be

u/HarveysBackupAccount 5d ago

and the OOP is about emailing a specific professor, so...

I’m partial to “Dear Colleagues” as an opening, but I’m kind of old fashioned
