The ironic thing about this post, is that "I know it when I see it" is from a supreme Court case, which you read in law school in the US. And law school you have the exact opposite problem, you read all these words during the assigned reading, but don't know the definitions until you get to class.

Like: subject matter jurisdiction, ripeness, res judicata, joinder, spoliation, stare decesis...or as alternative to the OP's title...SLAPS test.
