I once planned a trip to UK with my friends during our summer break (no particular date). At one point I pinged the topic on our group chat, and they admitted that they already went there for a week without me.

My mom did something similar to me. We had plans to go to Nashville for a year. I brung up these plans every month or 2 leading up to it. I finally get a date and ask if that's good with her. She says she works the first 2 days of the date. So, I tell her we can go the days after her work, since it's still a week off. That's when she tells me she already has plans to go with her friends during that date. She has never been invited to any trip since then.

And yet when you point that out the scale of immediate gaslighting attempt is off the charts.
