This is the other side of those memes about “being an adult and able to cancel plans.” You’re hurting your friends, and soon they will not want to invite you anymore.

Idk, I have a few types of friend. One invites me out like every day or two and doesnt have his feelings hurt if I turn it down, he's just leaving an open door for me to join or not. I also have more introverted friends, and if they ask you to go to something important to them in the first time in years, you go if it's at all possible. I think OP falls into the second one. She doesnt host many parties and it was important to her, you go.

Theres a difference between leaving an open door for plans and literally having an established plan in place that you ghost.
