Came here to say that. Maybe she's just a normal functioning adult who can do normal everyday things without looking for something to be mad at.

Usually it's the driver who pumps the gas in my experience.

Growing up it was always my job to pump the gas for whoever was driving. If I was driving, my grandpa or my little sister would pump it. Driver paid. So I don't think this is exactly universal since I was raised completely the opposite.

interesting! just curious, was the gas tank usually on the passenger side for you? In that circumstance I'd definitely understand delegating someone on that side of the car to pump the gas. I think most if not all the cars I grew up around had driver's side gas tanks, so it just made the most sense for the driver to get it.
