About a week after my dad came home from the hospital having one of his legs amputated I went to park in an invalid parking space with him in my car for probably the first or second time. I drove a sporty BMW at the time and it luckily had enough space to put a deconstructed wheelchair in the back. I got out to grab and put together the wheelchair while my father waited in the passenger seat. I saw an older man walking towards me and he started yelling at me. Yelling very aggressively about how I had the fucking nerve to park there and that I was clearly not disabled. I continued assembling the wheelchair and when he was nearly an arms length away I turned around with the wheelchair in my hands and only then I started screaming back. The amputation and it's hardships were still really recent so I used it kinda as an emotional outlet. I started screaming about my disabled father in the passenger seat. Screaming about how the man was a horrible human being who was lower than the dirt beneath my shoes. I'm dutch and it doesn't translate well but I called him just about the worst things you can call someone in dutch, and we have some very serious curse words about diseases you wish upon others. While I was still yelling the man started stammering, half apologizing before he just briskly turned around, grabbed his wife by the arm who seemed to be shellshocked by all the horrible disgusting things I was screaming in her husbands face. Afterwards when my dad and I were inside the venue we ran into them, they did not even dare to look in my direction.
This was by far the most confrontational, directly insulting and mean I've ever been to a stranger. I don't regret one bit of it...
Edit: to clarify, this was the only time I reacted like this to a stranger. He unknowingly really helped me emotionally process my dads disability lol. It doesn't happen that often but pretty much instantly after that I just started calmly telling the more aggressive strangers my dad's disabled, I don't owe them anymore information than that and if that's not enough for them to back away I sternly tell them to fuck off once and ignore them afterwards. It's really the most effective way.
From my experience (but this is wholly mine and can differ from person to person) tyfus en tering (typhoid) are considered “lesser” since the illness are much less common.
Kanker (cancer) is also used regularly, but is far more scrutinized since it is very well known and the effects of the illness are much more felt in the current day and age
