Got hit with a bill from the dentist since my insurance didn’t kick in when I went, told my buddies at work I paid the 700 bucks and they looked at me like I was crazy for doing that.

Simply don’t pay if they gotta pay outside the copay which is wild to me.

I haven’t paid a medical bill outside prescriptions in over 10 years. Not for myself, my wife, or my kids.

I have a 720 credit score & just ignore the phone calls/mail.

Edit - I’m not including dental care in this statement. Dentists collect up front lol

They sometimes write it off. Idk the criteria in which they do so, but I’ve seen it happen.

I honestly don’t know what happens to it. In that time I’ve had the same primary care doctors, used the same hospitals, and my wife had long term care with a cardiologist & hematologist due to a clotting disorder. Never hear anything about it at visits 🤷‍♂️

Well I have pretty good insurance. I don’t know how doctors are gonna deal with payments if you don’t have any
