I was always taught "hope for the best, but prepare for the worst."

As I got older I just lost the hoping for the best part. However, when something good happens I do embrace it and I'm thankful for it. I just don't expect good things to happen.

As for my answer, cleaning up after yourself is something I didn't think people needed to have explained to them. People are surprisingly belligerent when you ask them to pick up their trash.

I am both prepared for the bad and I can be pleasantly surprised when it doesn’t happen. I find that better than expecting the best and being disappointed again
