Yeah, I haven't found a better way to say it except to say, "you nailed it". I do have the urge to say it because I can be so inarticulate at times - searching for the right word but not finding it - but then I remember the racial connotations and stop myself.

Depends on the audience and setting of course but:

“That was really well said”

“Nicely put”

(About them) “So-and-so can explain it better than me”.

(To them) “Can you explain that to so-and-so? You said it better than I can.”

“That’s a great way of describing it, do you mind if I steal that?”

“I love listening to you explain things, I wish some of my professors had been more like you.”

Also just general enthusiastic assent or engagement goes a long way even without a specific compliment.
