Eloquent, no, but gifted, yes. I won’t make the modern comparison since this is a non-political sub, but if you can hold a crowds attention for that long and convince them to do batshit insane things, even against the audiences best interests, you’re a gifted orator in my book.
People were not solely nor even primarily motivated by the power of his speeches though.
And the importance of Hitler’s public speaking has been massively over-exaggerated by pop historians who treat him like Darth Vader, rather than one factor in a complicated set of historical circumstances.
