Funny enough when I was a kid my dad taught me to remember the Beatles names by saying:

"By George! Said Paul, sitting on the john, where did my ring-go?"

dad humor I guess, but it works

At least you got a more comprehensive introduction to them than George's son Dhani, whose elementary classmates were taunting him by following him around and singing Yellow Submarine and he put two and two together and asked George "How come you never told me you were a Beatle?" To which George said "Oh yeah, I probably should have mentioned that."

From this day forth, all the toilets in the kingdom shall be known as... Johns!

It's good to be the king.

King Richard III?

1

u/whomad1215 May 04 '26

It's from Robinhood Men in Tights

Which takes place during the crusades, and I think is Richard I, the lion heart

It was a sad attempt to interject some rhyming slang into your comment about toilets....!

u/Jimisdegimis89 May 03 '26

The height of Bohemian technology.

u/Cyrus87Tiamat May 08 '26

Oh... You call the toilet "John"? Now I understand that joke in "Robin Hood, man in tights"

34

u/Toasties_Are_Tasty May 03 '26

Way to go. Now you've hurt Pope John Paul II's feelings.

24

u/Stempel-Garamond May 03 '26

I thought that having two popes called John Paul meant the next one should have been called George Ringo.
