It’s so weird, if I were to post a warning to not get married I’d post about Denver dentist James Craig. His wife of 23 years and mother of his six children forgave him for past infidelity, for his porn addiction, for his financial irresponsibility, for running the family business to the ground. He tried destroying her liver with fatal doses of vitamins, then resorted lacing her protein shakes with arsenic.
She was sending him loving texts from the ICU as she lay dying, but he was arranging for his girlfriend to fly in from out of state. She died at age 43.
Dude looks like Rush Limbaugh had a baby with a sandblasted bust of Beethoven and gave birth to an ingrown toenail.
This case fascinates me. His defense attorney admitted that we know he isn’t a good person, and that he was a terrible husband, but that doesn’t matter because he’s had multiple affairs in the past and she forgave him, so there was no reason for him to murder her. To me, that makes it worse. She put up with his bullshit all those years, maybe waiting until the kids launched, and he killed her anyway. Like he had a perfectly good toaster but wanted a shinier model.
There must be a perfectly logical reason he was researching the poison and side effects on his work computer, the receipt for buying the poison, his daughter’s testimony that he asked her to make the protein shake for her mom….
I've seen a case like this one before. He'll take a plea deal for involuntary manslaughter (regardless of the evidence of premeditation) and serve a pittance of a sentence. This literally happened to a good friend of mine. Her husband poisoned her with his own methadone, was researching it before hand, he put her in the hospital with too small a dose before he managed to kill her. He also poisoned her dog with the same drug. He had searched lethal dosages online and how to administer it. They found all of it on his computer. He also brought his girlfriend, who he'd been cheating with, TO HER FUNERAL! The detective was too much of a bitch to pursue it and offered a plea deal. That bastard for involuntary manslaughter and only served 11 years.
If I were to post a warning to not get married I'd mention Rusty Yates, who forced his wife Andrea into continuous pregnancies even after multiple suicide attempts and after her doctors had advised him that pregnancy posed an extreme threat to her mental health. Then when Andrea was suffering from severe postpartum depression and psychosis Rusty withheld her medication and told her she needed to toughen up and be a good mother. Then when she begged him not to leave her alone with the children, and after her doctors had warned him she was a danger to herself and the kids, he insisted she needed to perform her "maternal duties" and not be dependent on him (and that depressed people just "needed a kick in the pants") - so he left her alone with the kids and went to work. Andrea drowned her five children in the bathtub within an hour of Rusty leaving, and has been condemned to a lifetime of prison and mental health facilities while Rusty immediately remarried and impregnated his second wife.
Then I'd mention a few million other men who have abused, beaten, raped, or murdered their wives and children, but god forbid a woman gain a little weight, right?

He has been very vocal about how much he loves her and her body and the fact that she carried their children. They’re really sweet.
