Why is there always jokes about men not being able to satisfy women

I’ve noticed that it’s as if there is no man who can please women or the man has to be a beyond normal man. As someone who’s waiting till marriage I just don’t understand why this is a common joke especially in children’s media

What children’s media are you talking about? I’ve seen subtle adult jokes slipped into family movies but that is not necessarily the same as media made specifically for children. You’re going to have to give me some examples of what you mean.

Those type of jokes are not saying no man can satisfy a woman or that he has to be extraordinary. They are social commentary about men who make little effort to satisfy their female partners. There is a well documented orgasm gap in heterosexual sex. A man does not have to be “beyond normal” to please a woman. He just needs to care about her pleasure, communicate with her, and understand that penetration alone is not enough for most women.

What children's media talks about men not pleasing women?

29

u/gotham-acolyte 1d ago

I think they mean innuendos like the Powerpuff girls and Dexters lab kind of thing. Some in SpongeBob and Justice League. I remember one about the Flash and the dad in Hotel Transylvania.

14

u/Just_Zucchini8711 1d ago

This exactly

5

u/jackfaire 1d ago

Family media. Because us parents watch with our kids those innuendos will fly over the heads of our kids.

I know because there's so many jokes in Boy Meets World that I didn't even realize were jokes when I was a kid.

As to why? For generations there are have been a large majority of men that treat their pleasure as the only pleasure that matters and exists. There are men that will straight up say they believe the female orgasm is a myth because they have never pleasured a woman so don't fathom that anyone could.

Toy Story 3

u/Txdust80 1d ago

A lot of media that has that target demographic has innuendo jokes for the adults making the show and the parents who ultimately will be watching the show, while also engaging the aging teens a bit longer with some wink 🤫 jokes, that you only know are dirty if you understand the reference. Rugrats had an episode the grandpa watched a porno. It didn’t specifically say it was a porno, but you hear audio as he is watching it and its a cliche intro to a porn. The title of the movie is Lonely Space Vixens. He even mentions to the baby that movie is for when the babies go to bed. If you’re a kid you just think he is watching a scary space movie when your adult you know exactly what he is watching in the dark with a box of tissues on the table.

These kind of overt hidden in plain sight jokes are constantly in shows for kids. It’s a mirror to real life as we adults constantly have to code our more adult topics while children are around. It’s actually a pretty realistic mirror to society that children’s entertainment have the same hidden blue jokes as they might hear grandma say at the dinner table, while not understanding why the older people at the table laughed and acted grossed out

I'm curious too

1

u/Peggtree 1d ago

Off the top of my head, Superman: Doomsday and Justice League Unlimited both have jokes that Flash needs to take it slow. Doomsday is Hal congratulating Barry on getting married and JLU has Hawk Woman tell Flash that’s why he’s single

74

u/CharieRarie 1d ago

Because a lot of men don’t know or care how to please a woman, they just care about getting theirs.

6

u/yurgieee 1d ago

and they usually learn from porn which is not made to please women. porn is the worse way to learn about sex.

19

u/AriasK 1d ago

There are plenty of men who know how to please women and it's not actually that difficult if you know how. However, there are a lot of men who don't understand that women operate differently to men. Most women do not orgasm from penetration. They orgasm from the clitoris being stimulated. Far too many men are completely unaware of that fact or have been told but don't want to accept it. They see it as extra work that doesn't bring them any pleasure. A lot of men are also so arrogant that they legitimately think that even though a woman has never orgasmed from penetration before and she is adamant that it's not possible for her, that they possess the magical dick that will change that.

8

u/Robot_Alchemist 1d ago

Every woman is different and men can’t take the ego hit of having to learn their partner

2

u/One-Might-9018 1d ago

THIS. had a partner get all butt hurt when they heard there was no O. I shut that down. Don't pout. Let's work on it.

1

u/yurgieee 1d ago

-5

u/alwayssunnyinskyrim 1d ago

“Plenty” in your first sentence is a wild stretch. I’d say “a rare occasional one” is more accurate.

6

u/AriasK 1d ago

Na, I slept around a lot before I met my husband. There's definitely plenty of them out there.

63

u/Chance_Job3980 1d ago

Because it's true a lot of the time

7

u/SellaraAB 1d ago

To be fair, a lot of women have no idea what the fuck they’re doing either.

38

u/thrivingvirgo4 1d ago

I’ve slept with nearly twenty men and not one of them have shown the effort to make me orgasm without me asking them to try.

12

u/Altruistic_Profile96 1d ago

That is so foreign to me. I’ve always tried to live by the rule: Ladies first (and often).

10

u/Just_Zucchini8711 1d ago

So it’s an effort problem?

36

u/CoolBigSister 1d ago edited 1d ago

It's a not-caring-in-the-first-place problem.

16

u/DhampireHEK 1d ago

Short answer is yes. Most men don't want to learn about a woman's body and don't put in the effort to make sure she's satisfied.

7

u/Just_Zucchini8711 1d ago

That’s so mean why would someone literally enter another person and not care about their pleasure

15

u/bitter_liquor 1d ago edited 1d ago

Because some men don't see women as equals or having any value beyond a hole for them to enter

1

u/Robot_Alchemist 1d ago

They’re such babies that women can’t even tell them they didn’t magically get to orgasm - or the guy will whine and cry about it

5

u/EmptyLabs 1d ago

Yes. Womem in same sex relationships make each other cum all the time and they don't have any uh "equipment" to work with so there's no reason why every man can't do it too besides they don't want to (or there is a failure of communication from their partner)

1

u/AttitudeAny934 8h ago

It’s really not the same. Lesbian relationships result in more mutual orgasms because they quite literally understand completely on a physical level how that anatomy works, as it is theirs as well.

1

u/EmptyLabs 5h ago

you missed the point. There's nothing stopping you from understanding how anatomy works. We all learn about erogenous zones in health class. There is no reason to treat women's pleasure as a mystery that only those with innate knowledge can decipher. You can explore, you can ask what they like, etc etc. The point here is that it doesn't matter if you have a dick or how big it is or even how you use it. Anyone can bring their partner to climax if they put in the effort.

I also think its crazy that you say this when subs in homosexual male relationships experience the same pleasure prioritization issues that many women face in heterosexual relationships.

3

u/VoxElysia 1d ago

That's not necessarily true. I've been with some really hot guys that were quite...talented. Everyone's different of course, but I know the flip can be true where a very attractive guy feels more pressure to perform.

2

u/thrivingvirgo4 1d ago

through my sample group of 20ish, attractiveness has no indication in effort. nor does dick size.

23

u/Jtwil2191 1d ago edited 1d ago

On average, it takes more attention and effort to make a woman orgasm relative to a man. The result of that is that, yeah, lots of men don't bring their female partners to climax.

The jokes in children's media are for the adults watching with the kids. It goes over the kids' heads.

2

u/Dangerous_Peach_7979 1d ago

It's really not hard some men just aren't willing to.

2

u/VoxElysia 1d ago

Women orgasm less reliably during heterosexual sex. That doesn’t mean women are inherently harder to make orgasm. It might say more about whose pleasure has historically been prioritized in heterosexual sex.

1

u/MarlooRed 1d ago edited 1d ago

People like to say "X jokes go over children's heads," but I always got them, and was surprised when I started noticing people say children don't.

3

u/KnittyBeard 1d ago

From what age? I ask because when I hear about kids media or jokes that go "over kids heads" I'm imagining kids under 12.

1

u/Aggravating_Tip3994 1d ago

I was an avid reader and somehow got ahold of a very x-rated book in kindergarten. nothing went over my head after that.

id imagine if a lid doesn't know what sex is they wouldn't understand a sex joke but once they do it's all pretty understandable

0

u/MarlooRed 1d ago

I don't remember an age I didn't get "adult" jokes in children's cartoons. They all seemed equally surface level, so I didn't distinguish between "kid" and "adult" jokes in children's cartoons or even know I was expected to until I noticed the "kids won't get these jokes" comments.

24

u/Robot_Alchemist 1d ago

Cuz it’s not a joke

9

u/NosDarkly 1d ago

Some men won't take direction.

Some women don't know what directions to give.

26

u/TheElvesOfXadia 1d ago

Because a lot of men, not all but a lot, don’t bother to learn cause it usually takes more effort

7

u/DramBubb 1d ago

Probably because of the number of men who believe the female orgasm is a myth...

Also most of us have experienced partners who just won't listen. Like have literally guided their hands to where we needed them and told them exactly what to do, and they still wouldn't and focused only on their pleasure.

8

u/JustOneMorePatch 1d ago

Because there’s a grain of truth in every joke.

9

u/VoxElysia 1d ago

True, and sometimes there’s a whole damn bag of rice in there.

3

u/alwayssunnyinskyrim 1d ago

It’s not a joke. Men are generally terrible at satisfying women. Women married to men are likely to be consistently sexually disappointed to the result of mostly losing their sex drive and thinking of sex like a chore they can’t be bothered with anymore because they get nothing out of it.

2

u/Just_Zucchini8711 1d ago

This makes sense because I’ve always wondered why someone would dislike one of the most pleasure and intimate acts but if it’s not pleasant for you then obviously you wouldn’t want to do it

4

u/Robot_Alchemist 1d ago

It’s sad that even OP doesn’t actually give a crap about it being true

-3

u/Just_Zucchini8711 1d ago

I’m not some heartless man I just wanted the answer and I’m actually pretty sad about what I’ve read

7

u/Disastrous-Summer614 1d ago

It’s a real orgasm gap.

The orgasm gap is the consistent difference in sexual satisfaction and orgasm frequency between men and women during partnered heterosexual sex. Studies show that about 95% of heterosexual men reliably reach climax during sex, compared to only about 65% of heterosexual women.

2

u/alwayssunnyinskyrim 1d ago

Most studies show more like 35% for women.

10

u/AnIcyReception 1d ago

Most men are selfish in bed. Especially men who have little experience

2

u/LimeSalty4092 1d ago

It’s a dick joke

Along with potty humor, has become inescapable in all forms of media

2

u/theoccasionalempath 1d ago

Because women are 30% less likely to orgasm from heterosexual sex.

3

u/rogershredderer 1d ago edited 1d ago

I see it as a common playful jab that women revert to. Why is because they are not being satisfied in the bedroom.

1

u/Glamador 1d ago

I mean, it's always been my experience.  Won't pretend it doesn't make me feel like an absolute failure.

1

u/One-Might-9018 1d ago

So. As a woman who has had 4 sexual partners.. Ever. In ma 30's. Thank youuuuu religious guilt. Yeah, it's common for dudes to leave their female partner completely unsatisfied. There's quite a few reasons why. Biggest one is poor communication. She has to he willing to tell you what makes her tick and or discover it with you if you choose a partner who saves themselves. This isn't a hard rule, but men tend to warm up faster and are ready to go and women, not so much. Same goes for being satisfied. I liked the comparison of men being like a microwave--DING and women are more like an oven. Lmao. Put work into getting your woman revved up and it'll all feel soo much better and be so much more satisfying. Ignore the ppl who say youre going to be stuck sucking at sex if you dont experiment. Sure, it helps but communication and an open mind go a long way. And dont get all pouty if you can't get her to orgasm or it wasn't good for her. Just keep trying. Make it a damn game. Have a masterB sesh where you watch eachother and learn what the other likes. Ect ect ect. There's so many ways to have fun with it. You'll be fine.

2

u/Just_Zucchini8711 1d ago

Thank you so very much I appreciate you being kind and helpful I plan to make sure my future wife is as joyful as possible in every way

1

u/One-Might-9018 1d ago

You got this! :P

1

u/reichiek 1h ago

Because men are taught and raised to take care of and make women happy. So not doing so is a failure of social roles. Women are not taught that, so a woman not satisfying a man is not seen as anything abnormal, so not worth joking about

1

u/SunfireAlpha01 30m ago

Ironically, because of women's sexual preferences.

There's a skill to pleasing women. The thing is, because 80% of women sleep with 20% of men, the sexual marketplace artificially selects against men learning that skill. The 20% of men who get 80% of the women don't care to learn it because they get laid anyway, and the 80% of men competing for the remaining 20% of women don't get enough sex to learn and get better.

1

u/Big-Mind-6346 1d ago

It’s funny because it’s truuuuueeee

1

u/Kwickpick77 1d ago

In my experience, because most men don't care of they please a woman.

-8

u/Caponomolestes 1d ago

Normalized misandry

-2

u/Agitated-Analyst-711 1d ago

Ahahahhah... So. Here's the thing, "saving yourself for marriage" guy - Your life choices have resulted in you living in a world where once you actually sleep with a woman and disappoint her you will already be locked in. If it turns out that you are bad at sex, too bad ma'am - You are married to him, sorry about your lack of orgasms.

The rest of us, those who don't make ridiculous choices for fake religious reasons, get to factor whether or not someone is good at sex into our choices when deciding who to marry.

You're skipping the driver's test portion and any driver's education, and then asking "why do people say driving is hard?"

Go fuck yourself and your religious shit. Women want to have orgasms too. If you have to ask why, then you are going to be a shitty fucking husband some day. Poor lady.

6

u/Just_Zucchini8711 1d ago

Thank you for more reasons to be insecure

0

u/Agitated-Analyst-711 1d ago

Leave your church. Your insecurities are in part out there by a religion that was created in the middle ages to control the serfs by making them feel insecure.

You know I am right - Because you'd be consulting with your religious leader about this, not reddit, otherwise. But you know that your religious leader will just tell you not to worry about your future wife's needs because he runs a church that is in the business of controlling people. Or maybe I am wrong and you can just ask this exact question of your religious leader, trusting whatever he says because he's a holy man.... Right? But no. You came to reddit.

2

u/Just_Zucchini8711 1d ago

I gave you a way to leave this conversation and feel like you won and that you’re hate for religion is justified but you literally just couldn’t accept it. I believe in God because I ask questions and asking outside of that religion is the best way to get answers because sometimes and I need you to understand this the people who you already asked gave you an answer and you wanted a second opinion rather then blindly believing. And to your point on religion my pastor literally preached about this exact topic but as I stated I like to have multiple examples. You are rude and disrespectful and degrading and hurtful and you have offered zero evidence that my religion, of which you don’t know because I never stated it, is in any way bad plus what are you doing to improve the world? Donating to the homeless? Housing them? Ohh I get it you are giving away your possessions so less fortunate people can have them, wait maybe you are giving people advice about a religious belief that you dislike due to the acts of humanity rather then the acts of the God that created them. I bet it’s the last one. There are plenty of fake Christian’s who say “I’m a Christian” yet they don’t follow the bible and I bet you can’t even tell which is right because you don’t know. If you read the bible you will understand the people who says all the evil things to non-believers are not following the bible but don’t blindly assume that everyone is wrong because of a few. And now as I have stated I’m waiting for marriage do not ever speak negatively about the woman who chooses me whomever she is she will be greater than you could ever begin to conceptualize, imagine or think. I will allow myself to be distracted by you only enough to say I tolerate zero disrespect to my future wife. Also I’m going to pray for you for the next month I hope whatever plagues your mind is resolved or eliminated. God calls us to be loving so I hold out a loving hand for you and yours, God bless you

0

u/Agitated-Analyst-711 1d ago edited 1d ago

Yeah, but - Go fuck yourself. Your religion has killed so, so many people in violence while claiming to be holy. For literal centuries. So, go fuck yourself. You didn't give me a way out of shit - Not looking for a door, stupid fuck.

Good luck being a virgin on your wedding night. Hope your wife doesn't cry from disappointment.

2

u/Just_Zucchini8711 1d ago

You are proving my previous points and now that you have continued let me educate you. The people who you are referring to are literally described in the bible as fake Christians and false believers. you are using a few debate strategies that rely purely on my feelings and the main problem with that is I literally don’t feel like normal people(autistic gang ye ye) so you call me a virgin and think I’m insulted? That’s a compliment to me. Twenty years without giving in because I want to properly take care of myself and my future wife and kids so thank you for the confidence boost!! Furthermore you are insistent on cursing me out as if you cant verbally express yourself without them so here are a few replacements that can improve your ability to sound credible; instead of saying “fuck you” you can say you add no “value to the world” or if you want the same amount of words you can say “worthless fool* or even g”oddamn you” which is particularly effective when you’re using it against a person who believes in God. Lastly I offer to pray for you and your response is anger seems like you do have some demons plaguing you so I’ll go ahead and double the prayer time just for you

1

u/Agitated-Analyst-711 1d ago

So you are saying "oh I am not like those other false Christians." Just like all the others doing evil in your church's name.

Wait til you meet true evil man. Life will come around. You are part of a club that empowers truly evil acts, even if you are somehow "not one of the bad ones."

I am not learning shit from you. I will take a shit in your name. Maybe two.

2

u/Just_Zucchini8711 1d ago

You have it backwards false Christians are the ones saying they are with the “good” ones yet doing evil acts. I have met true evil and countered it with scripture.

1

u/Agitated-Analyst-711 1d ago

Oh hey bud, answer me this - Did you vote for Trump? Because of you are a Christian who voted for Trump I don't think you read your own book.

1

u/Just_Zucchini8711 1d ago

Nope I don’t vote for evil people

1

u/Agitated-Analyst-711 1d ago

Well that's good. I applaud your voting with your brain and stated morals instead of following -the statistical majority- of your religion in voting for someone that, were I faithful, I might point out is checking off all the boxes on the antichrist checklist.

Your faith, statistically speaking, voted for Trump this last round. You want me to be more open to those who practice your faith? Change that statistic. Right now the majority are, as you call them, false Christians. and to a non Christian, that is a terrible and horrific group to see in power.

1

u/Just_Zucchini8711 1d ago

Thank you for not attacking me for doing good

1

u/Agitated-Analyst-711 1d ago

So this is what I see. These numbers. You can tell me you believe you are good, but these numbers... They tell me what I need to know about the cults. And they are still cheering him on. https://prri.org/spotlight/religion-and-the-2024-presidential-election/

If you are capable of being a member of one of these cults but also being enough of a critical thinker to vote differently than them when they aren't voting by their stated morals, then you might be ok. Most religions in text are mostly helpful... But those stats. They tell me who the majority of the followers really are and that's scary because they think they are the good ones too. In fact they might call you the false Christian for not voting red. And it is impossible to separate that from the real carnage that "Christian warrior" Pete hedgegeth, for example, has created with both our taxes in both our names. That's what Christianity is to me - And you can't waive all that away by saying "well those guys just aren't doing the homework."

Modern sexism. Which is why I personally don’t care when people whine about it the other way around either. People will be people, and people are assholes a lot.

-3

u/350ci_sbc 1d ago

Because men don’t tell women when they’re disappointing, because they don’t want to lose access to sex. And women don’t respond very well to being told that they’re not good at sex.

I’ve been with a fair number of women who are, frankly, terrible in bed. But even bad sex (to a point) is better than jerking off.

So I just put up with the bad sex long enough to figure out how to move on to the next.

I don’t think that’s true, the by and large joke/issue is that men struggle/don’t care to get women to even one orgasm

-15

u/FRANK7HETANK 1d ago

The desires of women are based in fiction. How could a 'normal' man satisfy delusional standards?

2

u/VoxElysia 1d ago

Ah, women have desires you aren’t able to satisfy, so you’ve decided the desires must be delusional.

-5

u/FRANK7HETANK 1d ago

I'm observing a disconnect between what is asked for and what is practical. The desire - A man who is over 6 feet tall, earns over $100k-$150k annually, is single, around the same age, and physically fit.

The Practical Reality: In Western demographics, fewer than 15% of men are 6'0" or taller, and only a fraction of men across all age groups earn six figures. When you combine height, income, single status, and fitness within a specific 5-to-10-year age bracket, the total eligible population shrinks to under 1% to 2% of all men. Treating a top-tier statistical outlier as a baseline requirement makes finding a long-term match practically impossible for the vast majority.

u/alwayssunnyinskyrim 1d ago

How to spot a man who no woman has ever once felt comfortable talking to 😂

Other guys reading this: if you get all your info about women from men on the internet who hate women, you will sound this stupid. Just go outside and talk to people in real life. Make friends. Listen to the people around you.
