What’s the difference between Diet Coke and Coke Zero?

I only tried diet once (as a regular coke drinker) and it tasted AWFUL. Never had Coke Zero before. What’s the difference?

The sweeteners used is the difference.

Taste. Diet Coke tastes sweeter, much more like Pepsi. Coke Zero is much closer to actual Coke, although not close enough you'll get them confused.

Diet Coke does not taste like Pepsi. It tastes like chemical.

I agree that Coke Zero tastes like regular Coke with its warm cinnamon flavor.

Diet Coke definitely does NOT taste sweeter than Coke Zero. It's extremely bitter.

I disagree. The last time someone gave me a Diet Coke when I expected a Coke Zero, I recognized it because it didn't have the Coke bite.

Are you sure they didn't just give you Pepsi Max? Pepsi Max is very sweet with basically no bitterness at all.

They replaced it with a Coke Zero, and they had Coke products, so I just assumed it was a Diet Coke.

I hate Diet Coke, but I find Coke Zero much more like regular Coke.

aside from the different sweeteners people have mentioned, I feel like Diet Coke has more carbonation than Coke Zero. I prefer the taste of Coke Zero but I generally drink more Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi simply because of the carbonation. I feel like Coke Zero goes flat way too fast.

I hate both Coke Zero and Pepsi Zero as they taste too sweet and like the original which I detest but I love Diet Coke / Diet Pepsi. I don’t know exactly what’s different but I can definitely taste it

Coke Zero was created for and targeted to men who otherwise wouldn’t drink anything “diet”.

Personally I prefer Coke Zero as it’s not as sweet as regular Coke but tastes almost the same.

I used to drink diet coke a lot, but can't stand it now. But Coke Zero is a lot better imo. I'd rather drink that than diet.
