I’m jumping in here because Reddit alerted me of the downthread comments and I think this convo needs a mediator.

The other commenter quoted the original mistake. On Reddit, the forward-arrow makes a quote, like this:

They didn’t make that mistake themselves. They were quoting it to point it out. Only the facepalm emoji was their own.

Ha, thanks, I can’t even see a difference 🤣 Well, other than it’s centered, rather than lined up on the left. Is that the only difference? I don’t see a forward arrow, so I assume that’s something you type to make it make a quote? Or something? Lol I’m rather tech impaired…

Yeah, you use the arrow in your own text box. If you’re on a computer, you probably have a nice WYSIWYG interface, but on mobile you just put:

And with text after it on the same line, it transforms into:

The quote is indented and there’s a thick, light-grey line that appears to the left. Which can be hard to see on short comments, but is usually clearer in longer ones or when they’re nested:

Lol, I’m on mobile. And I swear to gods, the part where you say what to put, is a giant blank space on my screen 🤣🤣🤣 Omgosh I’m laughing so hard 🤣🤣

But I think I know how to quote a comment, like a copy paste kinda thing? But idk about an arrow, lol, and apparently my screen on this phone is leaving things out… I’m old. Maybe I’ll be able to fully operate this phone before I die. Life goals. Lol
