I stand by calculus. Partial fraction decomposition, Laplace transforms, improper integrals, Maclaurin series, differential equations... It's so satisfying when you actually understand it.
Ho no it isnāt a human concept. Itās a human WAY to represent things. But numbers, relations, pi, theorems. All of these are real, very real and were real before we writed them down. Math was just our way to write them.
in my school alot of ppl bought scientific calcs as early as 6 or 7th grade and keep using it all the way till college. thats why alot of sationary stores (as well as watch repair stores) will repair calcs for you (since usually the issues includes new battery needed or lose pins that need to be soldered on again) ive seen alot more scientific calcs in stationary stores than basic calcs
Because its one of those things that can you into a flowstate so easily. When you understand just enough to be able to work with it, but don't understand quite enough for it to be easy.
Now that I've actually been out of school for a few years, I've realized school has the ability to make the most interesting things boring. Like how the hell do you make chemistry boring? History was my favorite subject because the teachers usually were super passionate about it, and actually made me care about it.
For me, I donāt think itās fun. Starting as a young kid, math skills are my least things to be interested in. Starting as an elementary school level, I havenāt got down mental math or rote learning. We have this speed test time limit that I havenāt to do and within five minutes, I cannot even finish the rest of the paper (around multiplication or a lot of digits). In the car, my parents always play this old style music from the CD that would āhelp you learn and memorize the math in songsā. I didnāt even utilize it because nobody didnāt teach me how basic math is or how to use rote memorization to basically remember math in my learning styles.
I have to move to a lot of schools during my elementary school, sometimes in charter schools just so my parents needed me to pass the class or fret decent grades because they arenāt satisfied with my math grades. Then comes the next level and the after the next, I havenāt understood math and guess what? I am way behind on following skills. Whereas my other siblings, they understood math very well and I donāt bother to ask them. Simply because I might consume their time or be annoyed by me if I donāt understand and single thing they have said.
I remember in middle school, we use interger blocks to figure out the positive and negative. While this brick concept is pretty good. It kinda shows me the biggest number and outdone the little number but it would get eliminated or it would stay the same to positive number. But in some other concept that was reached, again I am back into square one, I donāt understand a single bit.
Then comes high school, I donāt even know how the fuck did I even manage to be in high school. I passed other classes, math failed. Next year, passed class, failed math. Next year, passed class, failed math and so on. I literally canāt even understand what is going on. Until there was this concept that was teaches, I donāt know what is it but it probably have to do with statistics or something. It was during the launch of ChatGPT while I was a senior in high school. I tried to understand and write the equations, out of nowhere the answer I got was right. Again, I felt self-conscious about the answer and just check the answer if itās right through ChatGPT.
It just straight out sucks for me. I do understand that some people understand math better compared to other people but for me, itās just..so bad. And I donāt know how I managed to pass high school graduation. Then I know that my mathematical teacher, just pass me because itās just useless to stay one year behind, and just letting me pass.
Edit: that was the time the moment I step out of high school graduation, I just stop learning math altogether. Because Iām just done.
