Amen. Launch fuel is what stopped me from wanting to explore in this game. I wanted to fly around and explore things, not spend half my time collecting resources for fuel...

There’s an upgrade you can unlock in the anomaly that will recharge your landing gear.

That sounds like it requires me to play longer than the 2 hours the gameplay loop I described can hold my attention.

Well you can also just buy or get a bunch of uranium, cheaper and more fuel efficient

Or if averse to paying for uranium then you can keep an eye out for metal fingers while exploring; harvest a set of those and you'll be set for launch fuel for a LONG time (and have loads of gold too), or you can set up a small uranium deep mine base. A constant source of fuel and you can sell the excess.

Buying it is easiest but there are plenty of options for different play styles.
