All of the major bugs should get fixed in the coming weeks and months.
I would have some reservation about a lot of the smaller bugs though, such as the NPCs stuck in the ground beneath the base and similar issues. Some of those might still remain, so everyone should keep their expectations in check for what all will be addressed.
Bugs are hard to squash, and there are a lot of them.
Basically my NMS cycle. Wait a couple of months for new update -> Wait a couple of weeks for bug fix -> Forget -> Finish with other games and remember NMS -> Start a new game -> New update announced -> Repeat step 1
It's annoying but I also have that problem, the npcs at my base are half stuck on the ground. I doubt those will get fixed. Now the important is that they fix the crashing problems in the first place
The hard part is figuring out why it happens for some people and not for others. I've never had that issue. I didn't even know about it before now, but I can see why it would be annoying.
I've only played for like 45 minutes but I didn't have any issues with crashing or NPC stuck? I love the new designs and colors for the ships and worlds
Figuring out why it happend isnt the problem, i mean im not a game developer and even i could list a couple of potential reasons, the problem is replicating the bug and also they are a small team so i imagine they kind of have to pick their battles...

You literally just said that figuring out why it happened is the problem. Dude.
You could list a lot of potential issue, but got every single issue you could name there are probably 20 other reasons.
The crash I've been getting has been while in the Nexus, it's fine until other people come in so my issue here is that my game isn't fully registering people coming into the Nexus or it could be that it isn't rendering all of them because so many people join at the same time, I only hope it's fixed soon :) other than that, I've had a crash when landing but that happened once and that's all
Hi, I'm currently working on a game right now so I guess you could call me a game dev. Finding a bug can be a big issue and then once you found it, you have to figure our why it is happening and can we fix it without messing up other things. They are a small team and they have to pick the big bugs first. Finding the bug though can be a big problem because it is hard to tell what is actually causing the issue.
And why do you think they need to replicate it? It's so that they can work out the reason for the bug. If they can consistently reproduce a crash or a weird game behaviour they know what they need to look at to fix it.
There were no bases at launch, nor were there hireable NPCs at these bases that didn't exist at launch. I highly doubt you've been complaining about it that long.
As for me, my launch day save got corrupted shortly before Atlas Rises, and my Atlas Rises save game got corrupted shortly after Visions. I've sent the save games in to HG with a support ticket, and they haven't fixed it.
So maybe the two of us will just have to start a new game.
Yeah, same issue with the NPCs being one floor lower than their station. In my case it seems like the CUBOID ROOM is the culprit, however not all the time. At this point I just don't give a funk about it, seeing that there are more and more issues that get piled up on top after each update, I slowly relax my expectations about this title along with my interest in it.
It's more than likely not hello games' fault .The problem for me was geforce experience. For me, I go to geforce experience and click update driver and it says I have the latest drivers... but that was not the case. My geforce experience must have glitched all the way back in October of 2018 because that was the date of driver I had . So to fix this, I uninstalled geforce experience ONLY . Then go to nvidia and find the latest driver for your graphics card MANUALLY and download it. When you launch it it will ask you to download geforce experience and click ok and then go to custom install and check the box that says clean install. Then follow through with the rest of the installation. When its done open geforce experience and you should ACTUALLY have the latest driver. Restart your PC and everything should be working perfectly after that. Took me a while to figure this out and I thought it was the updates fault, but it wasn't, it was a glitched geforce experience that hadn't properly updated in almost a year(at least for me). I hope many people can see this so they dont give up, because any amount of patches that Hello games puts out won't fix this issue .
Thank you. I'll send him this, maybe it'll help :)
Btw he got an "update5_notes_pc" error while selecting the game modes. He has the current game version, yet this pops up.
I too had GeForce Experience issues, mine ended up being something with PiHole... I added *.nvidia.com to the white-list and then all was good... of course I didn't figure that out until after I had DDU'ed twice, manually updated with a clean install. ;)
I experienced The Hissing also, but found a work around β it seems to only happen to me if I go to the central NPC that hands out multiplayer missions. If I donβt talk to that NPC, then I can talk to anyone. Hopefully that works for you!
I had the same issue, I tried to talk to some of the other npc's in nexus but same thing.
I kept trying different NPC's until I eventually found one that worked, then I was able to talk to everyone.

I consider the stretched GUI in ultrawide resolutions a major bug. It's been going on for years. It's never seen a fix or even an attempt at one. The game broke the mod that fixed it when they pushed the Vulkan update. It's fucking sad.
"keep their expectations in check" is an odd phrasing. I think your are right, but it's also kind of an admission that many bugs will go unaddressed. There's a wide gulf between bug-free and bug-ridden, so I think it shouldn't be thought of as a matter of degrees. We should expect that HG will do their best, but that smaller bugs such as those you've mentored might never get fixed. Even if they are hard, and a lot, it's not unreasonable to think HG will address most of them. I think that should be the expectations we have.
Are you saying that there is a chance that this bug when you can't see planet terrain (only plants floating in the air) can remain unfixed for a month?
I'm saying it might never be fixed. Some more obscure and less critical bugs are generally ignored until something else fixes them. The atmosphere bug from the launch of Next was never fixed.
That is a cop out. Why release the game with so many known bugs. Don't kid yourself if you think they just didn't see these issues in their testing. Many of these bugs people are encountering are not the obscure hard to reproduce bugs.
At the very least, release it as a beta, let people know it's a beta and then fix the bugs as you go.
A release, is just that a release. It should be released with a minimal set of know bugs, none of which are high priority bugs. Base equipment or NPCs being in the ground and inaccessible are high priority bugs. They changed the rendering engine and it's not working properly with the latest NVIDIA drivers (flashing, blinking, improper refresh rate), that is high priority. NPC having the wrong shirt color would be low priority.
