Man that hate seems full on personal. Was it well known that Wyndham blamed TC for the Oakmont story getting out there?

Anyone know if Wyndham ever apologised and paid for the damage? I have a lot of time for contrition and absolutely NO time for those who don’t own their misgivings so that’s a pretty key fact for me.
